Xbox Game Pass Adds a Cozy Multiplayer Adventure Game
Xbox Game Pass has just expanded the catalog of titles available to subscribers with the addition of Bratz: Rhythm & Style on December 11. Microsoft’s gaming subscription service offers four tiers of membership: Ultimate, Premium, PC, and Essential. Of these, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the most comprehensive while also being the most expensive. It offers access to more than 500 games on PC, console, and other devices like the ROG Xbox Ally X, as well as Fortnite Crew, EA Play, and Ubisoft+ Classics memberships. Most attractive to many subscribers is Ultimate’s addition of many games on the day they launch.
For those who don’t care too much about getting access to games on day one, an Xbox Game Pass Premium or Essential subscription might be more attractive. While they offer fewer titles, around 200 and 50 respectively, they also cost significantly less. Subscribers to these tiers still get cloud streaming of select titles, discounts and perks for certain games throughout the year, and online console multiplayer. And for gamers who only play on PC, there is also a Game Pass tier for that.
History of Xbox Game Pass Price Hikes Explained
To the chagrin of subscribers, Xbox Game Pass is increasing its cost once again, and it’s far from the first time the service has seen a price hike.
Xbox Game Pass Adds Bratz: Rhythm & Style
On December 11, Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers gained access to Bratz: Rhythm & Style, a cozy action-adventure experience developed by RecoTechnology that was released in September. The title mixes rhythm game segments with character customization, and there are two main game modes: story and party. In the first mode, the four characters — Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha, and Jade — travel to six stylized locations including Paris, Milan, Tokyo, and Lagos. There, they will explore the cities, complete quests, collect coins, play mini games, and participate in fashion shows and rhythm-based competitions like dancing and fitness. In Bratz: Rhythm & Style’s party mode, up to four people can team up in local multiplayer and enjoy three different rhythm game formats together.
As expected, the game puts an emphasis on customization, offering more than 400 clothing options, including recognizable items from past and present Bratz doll lines, as well as a range of makeup looks, hairstyles, and color choices. So players have plenty of ways to design their own outfits and then show them off in the fashion shows. Bratz: Rhythm & Style also features 20 original songs from the Bratz universe, including some from 2021’s Bratz: Rock Angelz, like “So Good” and “It’s a Girl Thing.” There will also be cameos from some fan-favorite characters like Kumi, Felicia, and Roxxi.
Bratz first launched all the way back in 2001 and has since become a globally recognized and popular fashion doll brand. Kids across multiple generations now have grown up with the dolls and will recognize many of the elements of Rhythm & Style, including Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha, and Jade, who debuted with the brand. Over the years, there have been several Bratz video games released, along with toys, TV shows, and movies.
Bratz: Rhythm & Style gives the game series a modern update with a new engine. There are also currently four DLCs available, which will not be included in the Xbox Game Pass offering. They can either be purchased separately or obtained by buying the game’s deluxe edition.
Other titles coming to Xbox Game Pass in December have not yet been revealed, but subscribers have already had a good month so far. Games added to the service include Stellaris, Monster Train 2, 33 Immortals, the survival horror game Routine, and most recently, subscribers got access to Mortal Kombat 1.
