Nintendo Eshop Seemingly Censors Dispatch Artwork
Artwork for a Dispatch DLC has apparently been censored in the United States on the Nintendo eShop, altering the clothing and covering up the skin of some of the more scantily clad characters with some extra fabric. Dispatch has been one of the hottest indie games of 2025, and has earned widespread critical acclaim.
Initially premiering on October 22 for PlayStation 5 and PC, Dispatch is an episodic adventure game that was released in eight chapters, with the final two coming out November 12. Set in an alternate version of Los Angeles where encountering people with superpowers has become part of normal life, the story follows Mecha Man, a.k.a. Robert Robertson III, who is recruited into the role of a dispatcher for the Superhero Dispatch Network after he botches a highly important personal mission. The narrative adventure has earned high praise from fans and critics alike, even snagging Best Debut Indie Game and Players’ Voice nominations for publisher and developer AdHoc Studio at The Game Awards 2025.

Dispatch Artwork Censored in the U.S. by Nintendo
Following its success on other platforms, Dispatch is coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28, 2026, as can be verified by a peek at its page on the Nintendo eShop. While that news may be exciting for Nintendo players who haven’t been able to try out the game on PS5 or PC, one piece of cover artwork for an upcoming DLC looks a little different on the U.S. version of the storefront than it does in some other countries. As spotted by Nintendo Life, the artwork for the Dispatch Art and Comics Pack, which releases the same day as the Switch and Switch 2 ports of the game, appears to have been altered to add additional clothing to multiple characters. The cover pack for the DLC is advertised through a scene of several of the game’s superpowered characters socializing and relaxing in swimwear around a swimming pool.
Keen-eyed viewers will be able to spot changes to the swimwear of four characters from Dispatch that cover up some of their more intimate regions. This mostly applies to the female members of the cast, as Prism’s swimsuit bottom has had a lot of extra fabric added to its backside, Malevola’s has a black strip added to cover the center of her chest, and Blonde Blazer gets a double dose of censorship, with both the top and bottom part of her one-piece swimsuit covering up some additional flesh, including completely losing a star cut-out that appears on the uncensored version.
While more subtle, there is one male character who seems to have been deemed to be showing too much skin as well. Flambae, who plays a big role in Dispatch Episode 5, appears on the cover art wearing just his sunglasses and a pair of short shorts. However, in the uncensored version, his fly is down, while the censored version only depicts him having his shorts unbuttoned, leaving a significantly smaller V-shaped portion of skin.
While the cast of voice actors in Dispatch includes a lot of big names, including Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, and popular YouTuber jacksepticeye, the characters themselves have gained quite a following among fans as well, and the Dispatch Art and Comics Pack will give them the chance to see the heroes and villains in a whole new light. The DLC pack will contain a digital artbook that promises to be more than 100 pages long, along with four original digital comics that share new stories of the heroes. Each of the four comics, titled Splash & The Last Bender, Pas De Deux & Shellshock, Get Up, and The Death of Mecha Man, will weigh in at 45 pages or more, and it’s being sold on the Nintendo eShop at a regular price of $10.99, with a 10-percent discount dropping it to $9.89 as long as it’s purchased before its release on January 28.
