How To Get Mega Heatran in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

Mega Heatran is a challenging foe, and to get its prized Mega Stone, players will have to beat it in a Rogue Mega Evolution Arena (as many of the Mega Evolutions in the game).

Players will be able to face this Legendary Pokemon in combat as part of the Hyperspace Lumiose Survey Mission Nº4, and after beating it, they can catch Heatran and claim the Heatranite to Mega Evolve it.

It has a lot of AoE moves that can wipe an entire party of mega-evolved Pokemon, and it is highly recommended for players to get a +75 level Donut from Ansha before trying this battle.

Mega Heatran Best Moves, EV, & Nature Pokemon Legends Z-A

Mega Heatran is a beast. With a BST of 700 distributed in a way that turns it into a bulky Special Attacker, it has a whopping 175 base Sp. Attack, turning it into one of the Top 5 strongest Pokemon (with a Sp. Atk focus) in the game.

Not only is Mega Heatran powerful, but it also has access to some of the strongest Fire and Steel-type moves, like: Heavy Slam, Magma Blast, and Heat Wave. It can also learn the powerful Steel Beam (sold at the Secret TM vendor in Lumiose), which totally rules in the current PvP meta.

Heatran (and consequently Mega Heatran) has access to a lot of the top-tier Sp. Atk-based Ground Moves, like Earth Power, and some of the best Physical Ground-type moves like Earthquake, and Bulldoze. Since it has high Atk as well (120), it can do well as a hybrid attacker, so basically, It is a living menace that can melt down anything in its path.

Players should use the following EV Spread for better results at both PvP and PvE: 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Sp. Def / 252 Speed. Speed is really valuable for Heatran, since it lacks a bit of that stat, and in Legends Z-A new combat style, Speed is everything. Players can replace Speed for HP if they feel the need for a bulkier Heatran.

Finally, for nature, pick either Timid (Speed ↑ Attack ↓) to increase its speed further or Modest (Sp. Attack ↑ Attack ↓) for an all-out nuker strategy. At the end of the day, there are only a few Pokemon that can force Heatran into a corner, and when it’s Mega Evolved, it becomes nearly unstoppable.
