How to Use the Catch Window in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

By newsgame

Pokemon Legends Z-A has brought a lot of changes with its Mega Dimension DLC, and one of the most interesting features is the Hyperdimension Rift Survey. But to complete these surveys players need to dive in the dangerous Hyperspace Lumiose, and complete certain goals.

Among them, the ‘Use the Catch Window‘ sounds the most cryptic, so it is no wonder players are confused as to what it means. To make things simpler for players attempting to complete all Survey challenges before the time runs out, here’s what to do in case one of those requests trainers to capture Pokemon using the Catch Window.

How To Use The Capture Window in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC

While delving into Hyperspace Lumiose, players will be tasked with completing certain Goals to earn Survey Points. One of the goals (given randomly at the start of the survey) is to ‘Use the Capture Window’.

The Capture Window is basically the moment when the wild Pokemon is at its weakest state, which happens briefly after being defeated. It is marked by the twinkling stars circling around the Pokemon’s heads, and it is a truly short window, lasting barely 2.3 seconds in most cases.

Players need to take this chance to throw a Poke Ball and catch it, if they want to complete this Goal. Usually, players need to repeat this feat from 3 to 5 times, and they’ll receive from 600 to 1200 Survey Points for doing so.

To throw a Poke Ball at a weakened Pokemon, hold ZL to target it, then press ZR to select the Poke Ball with the left stick, and release ZR to throw the ball at the target.

The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends Z-A allows your party members to go beyond level 100. Here’s all you need to know about this.

It is also important to mention that the arrows next to the Wild Pokemon hud indicate the chances of catching it successfully. The more arrows, the higher the chances.

Players can also take advantage of the additional bonus for throwing a ball at the Pokemon’s back (from behind) while the Catch Window is active, but they need to time it properly lest they miss their chance.

Last but not least, it is worth noting that Rogue Mega Evolved Pokemon from the Mega Dimension DLC Rift encounters have a permanent Capture Window state once defeated, and throwing a Poke Ball at them is a guaranteed Catch.
