Progression in Hytale is locked behind the ability of the player to find specific ores in the game in order to upgrade their weapons and armor to the next tier. Ores are distributed strategically across the various zones and biomes of the game to give players an incentive to explore new areas to discover all that the game has to offer.
Not only are ores important for gear upgrades, but many of them are required crafting materials for a lot of other recipes in the game, including furniture, decorations, and other utility items. This guide goes in-depth about the location of each and every ore in Hytale, what it looks like, and where to find it. Here are the details.
All Types of Wood in Hytale & Where to Find Them
From Goldenwood to Lightwood, here are the locations of all types of wood in Hytale.
Ore distribution in Hytale is subject to change in every update as the developers strive to find the optimal balance to ensure that progression in Hytale is neither too hard nor too easy.
All Ore Locations in Hytale
There are eight types of ore in Hytale.

Copper Ore |
Copper Ore can be found in the caves of Emerald Grove (Zone 1) at a depth of 10-15 blocks. In Howling Sands (Zone 2), Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3), and Devastated Lands (Zone 4), it is found both above and below ground in large quantities. On the map, Copper Ore deposits on the surface appear as copper/rust colored dots. |

|
Iron Ore |
Iron Ore can be found in underground caves in every single region of Hytale, including Emerald Grove (Zone 1), Howling Sands (Zone 2), Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3), and Devastated Lands (Zone 4). In some cases, Iron Ore deposits also emerge above-ground and are particularly abundant in the Devastated Lands. On the map, they appear as grayish-white pixels, not to be confused with the silvery-white hue of Silver Ores. |

|
Thorium Ore |
Thorium Ore can be found inside underground caves and at mountaintops in the Howling Sands (Zone 2) deserts in Hytale. It is a green-colored ore, encased in dirt, that is frequently found at a depth of 10-15 blocks. On the surface, Thorium Ore deposits appear as dark green dots, surrounded by dark brown dirt blocks. |
|
|
Silver Ore |
Silver Ore can be found on the mountaintops in the Howling Sands (Zone 2) and the surface layer of the volcanoes in the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). They appear as bright, silver-colored ore deposits, embedded in volcanic cobblestones. On the map, look for silver-white pixels to spot them. There is only a minute difference between the pixels that represent Silver Ores and those that represent Iron Ores, however. Since both can spawn on the surface here, it is easy to get them confused. |

|
Gold Ore |
Gold Ore can be found in large quantities inside rivers in the Emerald Grove (Zone 1) and Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3). In these cases, Gold is found embedded in Calcite. Gold Ore deposits can also be found in the volcanic caves deep underneath the surface, though very rarely. |
|
|
Cobalt Ore |
Cobalt Ore is mostly found in the Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3), both on the surface and inside caves. It is a dull blue-colored ore embedded in black-colored Slate Cobble. On the map, deposits of Cobalt appear as blue pixels surrounded by black. They are relatively hard to spot without fully zooming in, however. |

|
Adamantite Ore |
Adamantite Ore can be found in large quantities on the surface of the Devastated Lands (Zone 4). It is possible to spot Adamantite Ore nodes on the surface by looking for small red dots on the map. Adamantite Ore can also be found in the Underground Jungles, below the surface, but they are few and far between. Additionally, they are much more difficult to find compared to the ones found on the surface since they don’t appear on the map, making them not worth the effort. |

Mithril Ore |
Mithril Ore is not currently available in the game, but players can use console commands or creative mode to give themselves this ore to do experiments. |
