Gardening is one of the core hobbies you can unlock early in Heartopia. It’s the second hobby players get after fishing, and it quickly becomes a big part of the game for Gold and pleasure. If you enjoy gardening, there’s nothing better than watching your crops grow.

How to Grow Crops in Heartopia

Gardening can be learnt from Blanc, who explains the basics. To grow crops, you first need to buy seeds from him. You also need to buy plant boxes, which can be placed in your home lot. Early on, you can only buy eight plant boxes, but that increases as you progress.

Once the boxes are placed, plant the seeds you collected in them. At first, you will only have tomato seeds unlocked, but as you keep gardening, you’ll unlock more crops like potatoes and wheat.

Blanc also gives you a watering can, which you use after planting your seeds. Crops take time to grow. Some, like tomatoes, grow in about 15 minutes, while others, like lettuce, require eight hours, so Gardening is all about patience.

How to Level Up Gardening Fast in Heartopia

Gardening works the same way as other hobbies and levels up the more you do it. To level up, you need Proficiency Points, which are obtained by growing and harvesting crops.

When you harvest a crop, the game shows you how many points you just earned. If you want to earn more Proficiency Points, make sure to remove weeds while your crops are growing. Weeds can appear at any time, and clearing them helps your crops.

Apart from seeds for crops and flowers, Blanc’s shop also sells some useful items. The two you unlock early are Fertilizer and the Growth Booster. Fertilizer improves the quality of your crops, and the Growth Booster reduces the growth time of your crops by 15 minutes.

Once Heartopia players reach Gardening level 3, they will also unlock flowers. They are mostly used for decoration, but they take much longer to grow. The first ones you get, Red and White Daisies, both take about 18 hours to grow.
