Where to Find Ruby and Sapphire in Hytale

By newsgame

There’s more to mine in Hytale than just stone, dirt, and metal. The game also has a few gemstones that players can turn into magical gear. The first of these gemstones are Rubies and Sapphires, and much to the dismay of many players, these are pretty hard to come by.

Rubies and Sapphires are extremely rare compared to most other resources in Hytale, and if you want to find some, you’re going to need to dive deep into a very specific underground biome that’s quite dangerous. There’s a lot of luck involved here too, so may have to go on multiple trips just to find one of these gems.

How to Get Adamantite in Hytale

Here’s how you can get one of the toughest materials you can craft gear with in Hytale.

Both of these precious gems can usually be found inside the volcanoes on volcanic islands. If you go down the mouth of one such volcano, you might find a shrine of sorts that’s made of golden blocks. In our case, we found a Ruby and a Sapphire sitting on top of one of these golden structures, and if you’re lucky, there may be some nearby chests that might contain additional gems too.

Players can easily go down a volcano’s mouth by bringing a water bucket and creating a water elevator, though the tunnels around the volcanoes tend to lead straight to the main cave where such golden temples can be found. Just keep in mind that the volcanic islands of Zone 4 are home to some strong monsters, so come prepared. It’s best to have at least Cobalt-tier gier equipped if you plan on doing a lot of fighting.

What are Rubies & Sapphires for in Hytale?

As of writing, these gems are primarily needed for crafting magical equipment at an Arcanist’s Workbench, which needs Thorium Ingots to make. Such equipment includes Staves, which are ranged weapons that consume Essences to launch magical attacks. Rubies are needed to craft Fire Staves, while Sapphires are used to make Ice Staves.

Crafting a staff will also require Silver and/or Gold. Both of these precious metals can also be found in Zone 4, though they can occasionally be looted from chests in other areas as well. If you want to make a staff, make sure to look for Gold and Silver while you’re in Zone 4.

Staves are fairly weak compared to the other weapons in Hytale as of writing this guide. The ammunition needed to use them can be a bother to gather as well, so be warned.
