Grubbler Locations & Crafting Recipes in StarRupture

With so many crafting materials to gather and recipes to craft in StarRupture it’s quite hard to track down all resources in the game. Such is the case of the Grubbler, a tiny but delicious insect that players can use to cook lots of interesting consumables (especially those that raise Corrosion Resistance).

Catching these little bugs is no problem at all, since they don’t offer resistance, unlike their bigger cousins: The Vermin. The problem is spotting them and knowing the best places to farm them. This guide will help players spot Grubblers with ease, and farm lots of them so that they can unlock all crafting recipes.

How to Find & Farm Grubbler in StarRupture

Grubblers are exclusively found in the twisted trees that grow on ridges and near the mid-eastern area of Arcadia-7. These glowing orange bugs are easy to spot, and they tend to go out after a Rupture Wave occurs.

The same Rupture Wave that gives trees in Arcadia-7 that characteristic twisted shape and incinerates all life on the surface is actually what makes spotting Grubblers an easy task.

Their orange glow is similar to that of Ignitium, and after a wave, they can be easily spotted from afar. There are three decent farming spots for Grubblers east of the Landing Pod (starting zone).

One is on the hill that leads to the Prism Herb Lake area, and around the Trench (the zone that surrounds the green hills on the easternmost zone of the map.

Twisted trees also grow around the Underground Cave entrances in this area, so be on the lookout for them. Be careful, though, as there are various Monoliths in the area that attract Vermin in waves, and can make survival troublesome. Bring lots of ammo.

All Recipes Unlocked/Crafted using Grubblers in StarRupture

Grubblers are used to learn the following recipes in StarRupture:

Calorie Gel (Gains 65 Calories on Use)
Aqua Gel (Gains 70 Hydration on Use)
Nutri Gel (Gains 40 Calories, 70 Hydration on Use)
Antidote Gel (Removes 100 Toxicity on Use. Removes all passive effects)
Termo Res Plasm (Doubles Natural Heat Resistance. Lasts 10 Minutes. Adds 40 Toxicity)

Make sure to save at least 140 Grubblers to unlock each of these recipes, and a bit more, since these will all require Grubblers to be crafted. The Termo Res Plasm is especially useful to survive damage caused by heated surfaces, so always carry a couple of them when exploring around Arcadia-7.
