Star Wars Outlaws May Be Coming to Xbox Game Pass Soon
Xbox Game Pass might be adding Star Wars Outlaws to its catalog of playable games, letting subscribers jump into the open-world action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. Xbox Game Pass has made some very big moves in 2025, and as the holidays approach, the possible addition of Star Wars Outlaws could put an exclamation point on an already impressive list of newly added games for the year.
There have been a number of different Star Wars games offered through Xbox Game Pass since the subscription service was first launched in 2017. Popular titles that Game Pass players have been able to enjoy include Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Battlefront 2, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. While Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws was one of Ubisoft’s most highly publicized games of 2024, it didn’t make its debut on Game Pass, instead becoming available to subscribers of Ubisoft+ Premium on August 27, 2024, three days ahead of its official release.
Xbox Game Pass’ Recent Absence Ends 2025 With a Whimper Instead of a Bang
After a lackluster showing at The Game Awards 2025, Xbox Game Pass’ future looks cloudy, though plenty of games are coming in 2026.
Star Wars Outlaws May Be Coming to Xbox Game Pass
There has been no official announcement made by Microsoft or Ubisoft stating that Star Wars Outlaws will be coming to Game Pass. However, suspicion that it may be coming soon has been stirred up by one Xbox player on Reddit, who reports that they purchased the base game through a product key and noticed that a piece of Star Wars Outlaws DLC was being shown as already owned. After reaching out to Ubisoft Support, the player said they received a message stating that the DLC content was showing as owned because of availability through Game Pass, but the player could not access them because they only owned the base game.
That response didn’t make sense for a couple of different reasons. Firstly, and most obviously, is that Star Wars Outlaws has never been released on Game Pass, let alone any of the Star Wars Outlaws season pass content or other DLCs. Secondly, if the DLC content has been made available via Game Pass, and the player is a Game Pass subscriber, then it stands to reason that they should have been able to access that content, which they were not. This is leading some people, including the person who originally discovered this little programming anomaly, to assume that Xbox Game Pass is in the process of adding Star Wars Outlaws to its catalog soon.
If this is to be the case, it’s unclear whether Game Pass subscribers will be able to access just the base game or any of the content that has been added post-launch. Post-launch additions have included two different story packs, Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune, which have given Kay Vess more adventures to go on throughout the galaxy. Wild Card added Lando Calrissian to Star Wars Outlaws, letting Kay meet the famous gambler and thwart an Imperial plot for a weaponized gas attack. The more recent addition, A Pirate’s Fortune, has her teaming up with The Clone Wars‘ Hondo Ohnaka and stealing a pirate treasure from a group of raiders.
Considering that Ubisoft is the game’s publisher, the rumor is not too hard to believe. Microsoft angered many fans in late October when it announced that a $10 monthly price increase was coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, bumping up total monthly fees by roughly 50 percent. However, along with that price hike came the addition of access to 48 new games, many of which were released on Game Pass through a partnership with Ubisoft+. That deal included giving Game Pass subscribers access to some pretty big-name titles, including numerous Assassin’s Creed games, so adding one of the publisher’s biggest titles of 2024 may not be that big of a stretch.
