Is Black Ops 7 Better Than Battlefield 6?
Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 go head-to-head in 2026, with both games releasing near to each other. These two franchises have been warring for decades to provide players with the definitive FPS PvP game, but does it need to be a fight? The two games excel in different fields, and neither is trying to replicate the success of the other. However, there are elements to Black Ops 7 that Battlefield 6 hasn’t tapped, and vice versa. Below, we’ll showcase some elements that Black Ops 7 has that Battlefield 6 doesn’t, and provide reasons as to why Black Ops 7 might be the better game for you as a player, rather than a competitor.
Things Black Ops 7 Does Better Than Any Other Call Of Duty Game
Black Ops 7 has arrived, and there are a few things it does better than previous Call of Duty games that you might want to check out.
Zombies
Black Ops 7 Has a Zombies Mode That’s As Fun and Creative As Ever Before
Something that Battlefield has never had is a round-based Zombies mode, which Call of Duty coined back in World at War. This mode has continued to evolve and grow with each new entry from Treyarch, and Black Ops 7 is no exception. Black Ops 7 provides one of the best Zombies experiences from Call of Duty with its launch map, Ashes of the Damned, for both modern and classic players due to the fact that there’s now a Cursed mode that brings back the challenge of the old system.
Zombies is an absolute blast in Black Ops 7, as it is in all other versions. Being able to hop into a match to see how long you can last while grinding for camos, XP, and Calling Cards, is immensely fun. Killing the undead never gets old, and experiencing the hardship of the creative easter eggs featured proves that Zombies is a pillar of Call of Duty, and something Black Ops 7 has that Battlefield 6 could never.
Fast-Paced Action
Fast TTK Times and Close-Quarter Maps Allow for Arcade-Like Games
Black Ops 7 feels much more arcade-like in terms of action, and that’s a good thing. Matches are fast-paced, as is the combat. Players can run around and get quick kills with an assortment of weapons and creatively fast movement, allowing a fun addiction to the gameplay loop across its core modes. Black Ops 7 is very fast-paced with its action, and there’s no delay between spawning and fighting that makes each game unique.
Battlefield 6 is also a lot of fun in terms of action, but it’s more team-based and focused on objectives, whereas in Black Ops 7, it’s a lot more casual. You can run around and shoot people to your heart’s content in Black Ops 7, but battles in Battlefield 6 might feel a tad slower due to the larger-sized maps and slow-pacing of its game modes.
A Reason to Keep Grinding
Camos, Attachments, Prestige, Augments, and More Give the Grind a Purpose
Battlefield 6 is not without its reasons to grind, with a Battle Pass, Attachments, and Camos to collect. However, these offerings are far more limited here than they are in Black Ops 7. Across Black Ops 7, there are hundreds of Camos, hundreds of Calling Cards, and an immense offering when it comes to the grind. Whether you’re a Multiplayer enjoyer, Endgame respecter, or Zombies fan. Everyone has something to grind for, and it’s a fun grind to be had.
Ashes of the Damned Main Easter Egg Guide (BO7 Zombies)
Here’s a full step-by-step walkthrough of the main easter egg for Ashes of the Damned in Black Ops 7 Zombies so you can easily complete the quest!
Zombies players can get Camos and Augments for their Perks, Ammo Mods, and Field Upgrades to further increase their power in-game, whereas Multiplayer fans can continue the hunt for their proudest achievements in Calling Cards and Camos. Even Endgame players have their own Camo grind to enjoy, ensuring that there’s a good reason to stick around and keep playing for XP, and that’s without mentioning the battle to Prestige Master!
An Endgame to the Campaign
Narrative Aside, the Endgame Mode is Great Fun
One of the few things that Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 have in common is their Campaigns, in which the community for both games agrees was less than stellar. These Campaigns might not have met the expectations of players, but at least Black Ops 7 provides a reason to play beyond the credits. With Black Ops 7, completing the Co-Op Campaign grants access to the Endgame mode.
Battlefield 6 does not offer an Endgame like Black Ops 7, and for this mode, players have free rein to explore the expansive map of Avalon, almost like an open-world with different zones that feature unique enemies and challenges. Dropping in with a squad and fighting enemies to extract loot is another fun addition to Black Ops 7‘s offerings that’s well worth trying.
An Allowance to Be Creative with Collabs and Silliness
Collabs and Creative Weapons Add Elements of Fun Outside of Immersion
One of the most controversial additions to Call of Duty in its modern era is the inclusion of the Store, and its features. The Store often has weird weapons and strange blueprints that don’t exactly look like they belong in our world. They’re alien in design, and somewhat goofy with how they look, especially with their inspect animations. However, they’re still quite charming, and it’s clear that a lot of work has gone into making them that way.
Not only does Call of Duty feature these strange Blueprints, but it also has an abundance of collabs. With rumors of a Fallout collab coming to Black Ops 7, we can only assume that this is just the start. Sure, there have been blatant misfires with collabs like Beavis & Butt-Head not fitting the tone, but it’s nice to have freedom of expression when gamers are spoiled enough with Fortnite’s offerings. Meanwhile, Battlefield 6 seems unwilling to join this hype out of fear of its community, which has already removed skins like Wicked Grin because it dared to be something a tiny bit different from the serious tone.
