The Subterfuge at the Abandoned Shrine is one of the three quests that you must complete to purify the barrier. It’s part of the Heian Befouled main quest, and it takes place in Yasaka Shrine, Rokuhara.

Upon arriving at the shrine, there is no clear way to reach the barrier. Speak with Yoshitsune so he can join you for the upcoming fights. Next, head up the stairs and take care of the enemies along the way. Go through the archway while climbing more stairs to eventually reach the rooftops of the smaller buildings.

From the roof to the south, jump to the platform to kick down the ladder. This way, players have a shortcut back to the Shrine in case something happens. Proceed forward slightly to the east, and you will encounter the second shortcut to the left, but it’s unlocked later on. Go around it to continue exploring.

Next, climb the ladder and jump over the railings to land on the roof. Turn north and jump down, then continue ahead to reach the battle area. After taking care of the smaller enemies, the real boss appears, and he is Kaijwara Kagetoki. He fights mostly like a normal NPC and has a good balance between melee and ranged attacks.
