The X9 Maverick is currently the only three-round burst Assault Rifle, and though burst weapons aren’t exactly the most favorable weapon type, it is an absolute meta option in Multiplayer. Statistically speaking, if players hit all of their shots, the X9 Maverick boasts the best TTK of the Assault Rifle category. This is thanks to its solid stopping power, featuring the best damage per shot of any weapon in the class.

In terms of handling and mobility, it’s fairly consistent among the category, sitting somewhere in the middle. The weapon’s horizontal recoil is also practically non-existent, with only a small amount of vertical kick with each burst. The only real downside is the gun’s heavy reliance on accuracy, making it not exactly the best option for running and gunning.

The highlighted build is a solid option for those looking for a highly accurate Assault Rifle capable of beaming players from across range. Firstly, the X9 Maverick’s effective damage range has been pushed toward 22 meters before the first initial damage falloff begins at 23 meters, allowing players to get more consistent one to two burst shot kills.

With recoil already being low, using a Suppressor is definitely a luxury for staying off the minimap, but you can also throw in an attachment to reduce that upward kick just a tad toward the 25-meter range. As a bonus, if you opt to run the Gunfighter Wildcard, be sure to reserve those attachment slots for mobility and handling boosting options to keep the weapon from feeling too slow or sluggish.
