Battlefield 6’s New Map Has a Breaking Bad Easter Egg

By newsgame

A Battlefield 6 player has stumbled across a Breaking Bad easter egg on the game’s newest map, Eastwood, which was added to the game on November 18 as part of a major new content update for Season 1. Eastwood is available to all Battlefield 6 owners for free right now, set in an idyllic Southern California neighborhood where the luxurious pools and private golf courses have become a battleground for players.

Unfortunately, it appears as though players already have a major problem with Battlefield 6‘s newest map, as fans have called out Eastwood’s lackluster size, its questionable objective point placements, and more. This is just the latest Battlefield 6 map to draw heavy criticism from the game’s community, with veteran players of the series calling out the “COD-ification” of the latest entry due to its smaller maps and more fast-paced movement mechanics.

Battlefield 6 Player Discovers Breaking Bad Reference

Despite players’ criticisms of Battlefield 6‘s new Eastwood map, fans still appear to be taking time to jump in and check out some new easter eggs that have been added to the game. Content creator DANNYonPC recently took to Twitter to share their discovery of a Breaking Bad reference on the new map, which seems to have taken many by surprise. As seen in the post below, DICE has placed a pizza on the roof of a garage in one of the houses on Eastwood, a clear reference to Season 3, Episode 2 of Breaking Bad, where Walter White throws a pizza onto the roof in frustration.

This isn’t the only easter egg discovered on Battlefield 6‘s newest map, either, as other players quickly pointed out that there also appears to be a reference to Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. The 1980s classic psychological horror film, starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall, features an iconic scene in which Danny rides his tricycle through the hotel’s empty hallways, only to be ominously greeted by twin girls. A near-identical tricycle can now be found at the golf course in Eastwood, likely a reference to this famous scene.

The latest Battlefield 6 update came as part of the game’s very first season, which is being separated into three separate content updates. The second patch, known as California Resistance, went live on November 18, adding the new Eastwood map, a limited-time mode, new weapons, a new golf cart vehicle, and more. The next update will arrive on December 9 with even more content for players to check out.
