How to Get the Ladybug Buggy Mount in Grounded 2 Toxic Tangle

By newsgame

The new Toxic Tangle Update for Grounded 2 is out, and players might be wondering what’s new with this DLC. For starters, it adds a brand new Buggy to the game: The Ladybug.

This new tanky mount will help players deal with the obnoxious Toxic Slobs in the new area of the map, as well as carry lots of supplies and take down aerial enemies (Moskitoes, Wasps, Butterflies) with ease, thanks to its equipped water cannon. In this guide, we will explain to players how to get the Ladybug Buggy in Grounded 2 and how to use it efficiently.

Grounded 2: How to Get an Orb Weaver Buggy

The Orb Weaver Buggy is a late-game mount in Grounded 2 that is locked behind progression of the main storyline.

How To Get Ladybug Buggy in Grounded 2

The first step to unlock the Ladybug Buggy in Grounded 2 is to progress the main story by completing a quest to unlock the Hatchery, and then progress further until players are able to explore the new Toxic Tangle zone of the map. The Hatchery Blueprint costs 500 Raw Science, so if you’re missing some, you can either use the Analyzer to scan Resources or complete Ranger Challenges.

Players need to unlock a special bed for their new buggy , and the Disk they need to unlock the Ladybug Nest recipe is located in the Fairy Garden House (a small toy structure that hides the entrance to an Ominent Lab). This little cottage is placed right in the middle of the Garden Biome, so players cannot miss it while exploring the new zone.

Dive into the lab, but be careful with the green puddles in the area, as they can be a handful. At the end of this intricate network of tunnels, there’s a collectible Fairy TURBO Optical Disk that players will need to retrieve and insert into a Ranger Station to unlock the recipe.

Now that players have a Hatchery and a Nest for their new mount, they will need a Ladybug Egg to place in the Hatchery. These can be found around the Toxic Tangle area, so that’s where we are heading now.

Mages in Grounded 2 rely on Candy Staves to deal elemental damage and status buildup on their enemies, and are able to engage from a distance.

Where to Find Ladybug Eggs in Grounded 2

Ladybug Eggs can be found in the Garden Biome zone near the upper right corner of the map. The exact location is the Ladybug nests near the Cabbage Patch in the orchard.

The eggs are bright red and round, and are often placed in the leaves of the cabbage, so make sure to bring a Buggy like the Orb Weaver or the Soldier Ant to access this area with ease. The problem is not just spotting and taking the egg, but dealing with the Ladybugs (and other insects) that will turn hostile the second we grab it.

And then, players have to take it all back to their base to place it in the Hatchery. However, there’s a trick to bypass this process. Players can place the egg in their Buggy’s mouth (The Soldier Ant will work), and order it to go back to base to leave the egg there.

Still, there’s even a better way to bypass this. Follow these steps:

  • Make sure to have your Respawn Point set at your base near the Hatchery.
  • Give the Ladybug Egg to the Soldier Ant Buggy and then ‘respawn.’
  • Once back in the base, call the Buggy (press T on PC, or Right on the Controller’s D-Pad)
  • Take the Egg from the Buggy ‘s mouth and place it in the Hatchery to hatch.

Players will have to wait around 20 hours for the Egg to hatch, and then, they will be able to enjoy their new mount and explore the Toxic Tangle DLC in Grounded leisurely, on board this menacing Ladybug equipped with a water cannon.
