Servant of God Walkthrough for No Rest for the Wicked

By newsgame

Servant of God is the second main story quest in No Rest for the Wicked, and it’ll take players deep inside the infested mine to the east of Sacrament, where the Madrigal and her expeditionary forces are waiting. Reaching the quarry is no simple task, though, as the winding paths can be very confusing to navigate, not to mention that it’s filled with dangerous enemies. If you’re eager to make progress in No Rest for the Wicked, here’s a walkthrough covering the most important parts of the Servant of God quest.

Servant of God will not start unless you talk to the clergymen standing in front of the campfire near Sacrament’s entrance. Once you’ve spoken with them, quest will officially begin, and the way forward will be unblocked.

Your first order of business here is to go to the Nameless Pass, which you can find to the east of Sacrament. The exit leading to the Nameless Pass is close to the Rookery. From the Rookery, cross the bridge, then go to the right. Follow the path until you reach another bridge. You should be at just the right level for this next zone, but if not, you can always try farming enemies.

Nameless Pass Walkthrough

This guide will focus specifically on the Servant of God quest, so we’ll be skipping some unimportant side areas and activities for now.

After crossing the bridge, head inside the cave on the other side to find a Whisper and the recipe for Dracaena Dumplings, which essentially serve as an upgrade for basic Crab and Mushroom-based meals. Then, follow the main road eastward until you reach the Old Cottage, which should be locked for now. Head up the stairs, jump across the gap, and clear the enemies on the other side. If you go to the left, you’ll reach a shortcut leading back to the Whisper. If you climb the vines to the right, you’ll proceed through the rest of the area.

Go to the path on the right, then keep going east. Climb up the fallen tree, then make your way to the upper levels while fighting the enemies along the way. Make your way to the creeping vines in the second image above, and you’ll eventually reach a large elevator leading down to the quarry’s main entrance.

The Quarry

Tag the Whisper near the bottom of the elevator, and you’ll find yourself in Sacrament’s local quarry. Before you head north, follow the minecart tracks south first. This leads to one of the quarry’s main gates connected to the Nameless Pass.

Explore at your own leisure, unlocking shortcuts and opening chests along the way. The enemies here can be a little tough, so bring some Repair Powder with you in case you die. Soon, you’ll reach a huge, closed gate — to open it, you’ll need to navigate the upper walkways by moving the nearby crane around. The jump to the crane platform is a little finnicky, but ultimately doable.

Tag the Whisper in the adjacent room, then unlock the shortcut back to the main hall. Back at the Whisper’s room, go up the stairs, then head outside to the walkway on the right. Pull the mechanism near the gate to open it.

Explore the next area until you find an oubliette with a rotating mechanism in the middle. To progress here, open the second or third door, then look for a way to the ledges above you. Once you climb up, run counter-clockwise to the left until you reach the upper ledges. Then, head down, and look for another vine wall that leads up. Follow it to the top, and you’ll reach the outskirts of the Madrigal’s camp.

When you reach the first set of ledges, you’ll find a man in a locked room. We have a more detailed guide on how to set him free here.

The Madrigal’s Camp

Go to the main staging area to find Madrigal Seline and Governor Ellsworth surrounded by soldiers. A cutscene will play, and after that, go back the way you came. The inquisitors blocking the way forward should have moved away by now, so follow the path leading up to the Cerim Chamber, then tag the Whisper at the end.

The Cerim Chamber itself is inaccessible for now. To get there, you’ll need to take a detour through a cave. From the Whisper, follow the path to the left. Kick down the pillar blocking your way, then use it as a bridge. Keep following the path, and once you reach the end with the small waterfall, jump down into the water below.

Thankfully, the cave is fairly small, and the way to the chamber is pretty straightforward. Just make your way up, and you’ll eventually reach the Cerim Chamber’s main entrance. Kick down the pillar so you can easily reach the Whisper outside.

Riven Twins Boss Fight

This boss is a stronger variant of the giant, pole-wielding enemies you’ll occasionally find around Sacra. They’re much more aggressive, and they have a more varied moveset featuring wide swings, heavy slams, and a bunch of Plague-based magic.

Your best bet at beating the Riven Twins is to parry their slow and predictable attacks, but if you’re having trouble parrying, then focus on dodging towards their swings. Keep in mind that once they start spinning, their weapon becomes an active hitbox for the duration, which means you’ll have to keep dodging.

Also, you’ll want to stay on the offensive. If you deal enough damage to the Riven Twins, they’ll eventually get staggered, giving you the opportunity to land a few extra hits.

After you beat the boss, head to the platform above the boss arena, then interact with the altar there. Once the cutscene is done, head outside the chamber. The Madrigal will greet you, and the quest will end. From now on, the majority of the Nameless Pass and the adjacent quarry will be open to you. The other half of this region won’t be available until after you make further progress in the story.

Where to Go After the Servant of God?

Head back to Sacrament and go to the town’s plaza in front of where Maker Danos usually is. Ellsworth will be giving a speech there, and once he’s done speaking, a dog will appear, urging you to follow it. Go and follow the dog to start the next main quest. However, this scene will only play after you’ve finished the Of Rats and Raiders quest.
