How to Get Redwood in Hytale

By newsgame

Redwood is a special wood type required to upgrade the Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 5 in Hytale. The only way to get it is to chop certain types of trees in the wilderness, but the game does not provide you with any details regarding the specifics of where to find these trees in the first place.

Players looking to obtain high level farming equipment in Hytale will need to know which trees yield Redwood Logs when chopped down, as well as where to find them in the world. Here are the details.

Redwood Logs can be obtained from three types of trees in Hytale:

  • Maple Trees
  • Redwood Trees
  • Blue Fig Trees

Maple Tree Location

Maple trees can be found in the Fens biome of the Emerald Grove (Zone 1) in Hytale. These are the red forests in the game world, easily identifiable on the map thanks to their distinct coloring that stands out in the middle of all the green (shown above).

Maple trees have bright red leaves and rust-colored bark that is easy to pick out at a glance. Since the red forests can be found within the starting zone, Maple Logs will likely be the easiest version of Redwood for players to obtain.

Redwood Tree Location

Redwood trees can be found in the Frostmarch Tundra biome of the Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3) in Hytale. Redwood trees don’t come in ones or twos, but form entire forests most of the time. On the map, look for densely packed dark green treetops to find Redwood forests.

Redwood trees have green leaves and reddish-brown bark. They are often mistaken for Cedar trees since both have similar bark colors and spawn in the same areas. To differentiate, look at the leaves. Cedar trees have blue-colored leaves, whereas Redwood leaves are green. Cedar tree bark is also browner than Redwood bark, but that can be hard to spot sometimes.

You can also grow Redwood trees by crafting a Redwood Sapling at a Farmer’s Workbench in Hytale. However, the recipe for the Redwood Sapling only unlocks after a Farmer’s Workbench has been upgraded to Tier 5.

Blue Fig Tree Location

Blue Fig trees can be found in the underground jungle layer of the Devastated Lands (Zone 4) in Hytale. The easiest way to find these underground jungle biomes is by jumping into the lava holes that go deep underground.

There are two distinct biomes in the jungle layer, one where you find bright pink-colored trees and one where you find large Banyan trees (without the glow). You’ll find Blue Fig Trees among the Banyan trees. They can be identified by their blue-colored leaves and red bark. Do note, however, that Blue Fig trees are quite rare and difficult to spot. You might only find one or two of them in an entire zone if you’re unlucky.
