8 Biggest New Switch 2 Games Coming in February 2026

By newsgame

The Nintendo Switch 2 had a spectacular 2025, debuting with a strong lineup of launch titles and keeping the momentum going strong with exclusive games like Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders. To keep Switch 2 early adopters happy and convince others to buy the console, Nintendo is going to have to ensure that there is a steady stream of high-quality, brand-new game releases for its latest home console/handheld hybrid.

The Switch 2 started 2026 with a native version of Animal Crossing: New Horizons with platform-exclusive features, and will soon be home to major third-party releases like Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, and Dispatch. With January 2026 winding down, many Switch 2 owners are no doubt looking ahead to what February 2026 is bringing to the table. As it turns out, next month is even more stacked when it comes to new Switch 2 releases.

New Theory Suggests a Nintendo Direct Is Coming Soon

The first Nintendo Direct of 2026 is possibly just around the corner, with a recent leak pointing to one of the games that could be featured in it.

On February 1, Switch 2 gamers can play the new cozy game Starsand Island. On February 5, the highly-anticipated Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined will drop for the Switch 2, with PGA Tour 2K25 coming one day later on February 6. February 12 and 13 will prove to be particularly busy days for Switch 2 gamers. On February 12, both Mario Tennis Fever and Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties hit the scene, while High on Life 2 and Reanimal are both releasing on February 13. Things slow down a bit from there, but then the Switch 2 is ending the month strong with the release of Resident Evil Requiem.

This is not a comprehensive list of every Switch 2 game releasing in February 2026, but these are the highest-profile new releases.

Upcoming Switch 2 Games for February 2026

  • Starsand Island – February 1
  • Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined – February 5
  • PGA Tour 2K25 – February 6
  • Mario Tennis Fever – February 12
  • Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties – February 12
  • High on Life 2 – February 13
  • Reanimal – February 13
  • Resident Evil Requiem – February 27

Resident Evil Requiem is coming to the Switch 2 on the same day that two of its predecessors are releasing for the console. While Resident Evil Requiem is certainly the more exciting new release, Switch 2 owners that have never played Resident Evil 7 or Resident Evil Village will have even more to look forward to on that day.

Out of all the new Switch 2 games releasing in February 2026, the one that may generate the most interest is potentially Mario Tennis Fever. Most Mario Tennis games have been great, but the simple fact that it is a Switch 2 exclusive already elevates it above many multiplatform releases. What’s been shown of Mario Tennis Fever so far looks pretty impressive, and fans will find out sooner rather than later how it compares to other entries in the franchise.

Switch 2 Owners Have Even More to Look Forward to in February

Beyond the new Switch 2 game releases dropping in February, next month will also likely feature both a Nintendo Direct and Pokemon Presents event. Nintendo has historically hosted Direct events in February, and with many of its first-half 2026 games still without concrete release dates, it seems highly likely that the streak will continue. Pokemon Presents, meanwhile, is virtually guaranteed to take place on Pokemon Day (February 27), and will likely give fans their first look at the Generation 10 Pokemon games, assumed to be Switch 2 exclusive titles.

Between the big events on deck for February and the big new game releases, next month is shaping up to be one of the most exciting for the Switch 2 since the console launched last June.
