Demacia Rising is a new meta game within the League of Legends client that will be playable throughout 2026, with updates and new content to be added over the course of the season. It is a turn-based city builder game that explores the origins of Demacia and how it grew from a cluster of villages to one of the most powerful realms in Runeterra​​.

Players can go as deep as they want in their city building, but many will want to complete the objective of establishing a new settlement in Demacia Rising, as this will unlock an Orb, possibly containing some of League’s best skins.

To advance time and make some upgrades in Demacia Rising, players will need to spend Silver Shields, which are primarily earned from playing League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics​​​​.

How To Recruit Troops In Demacia Rising

To establish a new settlement, players will need to take an enemy territory by force, clearing out any residing monsters or other enemies. This means recruiting soldiers, but soldiers require food.

Click on your capital, Zeffira, and build a farm in one of the empty slots. This will take one turn and 20 wood.

League of Legends - Demacia Rising - Train Units

After advancing the turn, which uses 10 Silver Shields, the farm will be built, and as there is already a barracks in Zeffira, it’s now possible to train some units. Click on one of the empty slots at the bottom of your capital page, and you’ll have the option to train Guards for 1 Food and 50 Lumber. This will again take one turn.

Moving Troops In Demacia Rising

After passing time for the units to train, players can click on their capital and see the unit in one of the slots. Click the Move button at the bottom and then Send To, which will then allow you to select the target of Vaskasia.

This will again take one turn, but in the future, traveling further may take more turns.

Once the soldiers have arrived, players can click on the enemy territory of Vaskasia, and they should see enemies, as well as their own stationed units.

At the bottom is the Battle button. After pressing this, the battle will commence at the start of the next turn, so press the sun in the bottom right to advance time.

There isn’t anything players can do to alter the outcome of these battles, but they are guaranteed to win this first encounter during the prologue. Winning will reward players with 5 Valor and 50 Lumber.

After winning the battle, the enemy territory will be destroyed, and there will be an empty space. Click on the Open Land, and at the top, there is a button with a hammer icon and a green arrow. Click this to open the build menu.

You’ll then see that building a settlement at Vaskasia will cost 200 Silver Shields and 100 Lumber. It will also take one turn as usual. After this one turn, you should unlock an orb for completing the prologue, making this a new way to unlock free skins in League of Legends.
