Xbox Fan Shows Off Impressive Xbox 360 Collection

By newsgame

An Xbox fan is showing off their stunning Xbox 360 collection totaling over 1,300 games, completing the entire North American library for the console. Since the debut of the original Xbox in the early 2000s, Microsoft has grown into one of the titans of the gaming industry. Microsoft has released new home consoles for four different generations, with the current Xbox Series X/S selling over 28 million units since its launch in November 2020. However, the Xbox 360 stands out from the pack as Microsoft’s most successful platform.

The Xbox 360 has often been hailed as the best Microsoft console to date, with the console helping to usher in the age of online gaming. While Microsoft first launched Xbox Live on the original Xbox, the online gaming service saw some of its biggest growth throughout the Xbox 360 era, ballooning from 2 million users in 2005 to more than 21 million subscribers in 2010. The Xbox 360 was also the home of some of Microsoft’s most iconic game releases, with beloved games like Halo 3, Gears of War, and Fable 2 launching on Xbox 360. Now, one fan has amassed a stunning collection of Xbox 360 games.

Xbox Fan Shares Complete Xbox 360 Collection

Reddit user uncleseeth showed off their massive Xbox 360 collection on the gaming subreddit, giving fans a look at the impressive library of games. The poster shares that they recently finished the full North American library of games released for the Xbox 360, boasting more than 1,300 games in the collection. The user shared that, alongside the 1,256 games that make a normal complete set, they also have several variants of games mixed into their array of Xbox 360 titles. Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 18 was revealed to be the last game they needed to finish the set, being given as a Christmas gift from their son.

The original poster provided some more fun facts about the impressive Xbox collection in the replies to the post. The user confirmed that, out of the more than 1,300 games included in the set, they had played roughly 800 of them in the Xbox 360 library, completing 175. The most expensive game in the collection was revealed to be F1 13, selling for roughly $250 USD and said to be very rare due to a delayed release for the physical versions in the U.S. and Canada. The user even shared the game that started the collection, receiving Neversoft’s Gun for Christmas in 2005.

The Xbox 360 Built Microsoft into a Gaming Titan

The massive popularity of the Xbox 360 had a lasting impact that shaped the future of the Microsoft gaming brand. Xbox was one of the pioneers of online gaming with Xbox Live, with the Xbox Marketplace helping to revolutionize online gaming storefronts. Xbox was also one of the consoles to implement achievements on a widespread scale, soon after becoming an industry standard for most home consoles and gaming storefronts. The Xbox 360 even carried on long after its successor launched, getting new games up until 2018, 5 years after the Xbox One’s launch.

The Xbox 360 proved to be a peak for Microsoft’s gaming brand, with the company struggling to match its unprecedented success. The Xbox One’s roughly 58 million lifetime sales are more than 25 million behind the total hardware sales for the 360, and less than half of its biggest competitor, the PS4. The Xbox Series X/S has also struggled to keep up with Sony, with its current figures of 28 million units being only a third of the PS5’s lifetime sales. Many fans look back on the Xbox 360 as the greatest console generation for the Microsoft brand, and for good reason.
