Diablo 4 Dawnfire Drop Location

By newsgame

Dawnfire is one of the Unique pieces of gear that can drop for Paladins in Diablo 4. It’s the keystone to a very specific build, and while it’s extremely strong in the right setup, it gets easily overshadowed in every other loadout by regular legendary gear. Still, Dawnfire is quite the monster when used right, and if you’re interested in turning your Paladin into a walking toaster in Diablo 4, then here’s what you need to do to get this Unique armor piece.

While Dawnfire can drop from most of the generic Unique loot sources, it has a higher chance of dropping from Varshan. You can find him in the Malignant Burrow, which is right underneath the Tree of Whispers in Hawezar.

Much like the other lair bosses in Diablo 4, Varshan has a specific loot table, and among his many drops is Dawnfire. However, before you can get any rewards for beating Varshan, you’ll first need to get 12 Malignant Hearts.

Where to Get Malignant Hearts

Malignant Hearts drop from Grotesque Debtors, enemies that have a chance to spawn after you complete a Tree of Whispers bounty objective in Sanctuary. A message will pop-up on your screen saying that a Debtor will appear soon, and once one does, whack it to get some loot and a Malignant Heart or two.

Other than Grotesque Debtors, you can get Malignant Hearts by opening Whisper caches. The fastest way to do this is to find dungeons marked by the Tree of Whispers and complete at least two of those. Alternatively, if the Tree of Whispers has marked a Helltide boss, you might want to try fighting them first before heading to a dungeon.

What Does Dawnfire Do in Diablo 4?

D4 Dawnfire stats
Diablo 4 Dawnfire stats

Dawnfire is a pair of gloves that makes Holy Light Aura deal Fire damage to every enemy within its range instead of just three random enemies at a time. This lets players use Holy Light as their main source of DPS. The caveat here is that Holy Light only hits once every second, so if you want to make an Auradin build in D4, you’ll want to supplement its damage with other abilities like Consecration or the Wing Strikes from Arbiter form.

Dawnfire also has the following curated stats:

  • +Strength
  • +Maximum Life
  • +Chance for Holy Light Aura to Deal Double Damage
  • +Ranks to Righteousness

Also, it’s worth reiterating that Dawnfire turns Holy Light’s damage to Fire damage, so if you were stacking Holy damage prior to using these gloves, you might want to swap your gear for something else.
