How to Unlock and Edit ID Cards in Phasmophobia

In Phasmophobia, the ID Card is a cosmetic feature that displays important player information, including name, platform, level, badge, and character model. It serves both as a personal profile and a way to manage in-game interactions.

Players can customize their ID Cards by changing their character model and selecting different badges earned through leveling, Prestige, or participating in special events. Updated on December 23rd, 2025, by Joe Grantham:​ With many seasonal events across the year for Phasmophobia, the addition of Nell’s Diner map, and the introduction of three new ghosts to try and detect, there’s plenty of fresh content for ghost hunters to sink their teeth into. There are also new ID Cards in Phasmophobia for players to unlock by completing certain challenges. The second half of 2025 also saw monthly ID Cards become available via Twitch drops.

What are ID Cards in Phasmophobia

As players survive hunts and identify ghosts in Phasmophobia, they earn money and XP. Leveling up unlocks new maps, difficulty levels, and ID Cards. ID Cards are a cosmetic representation showing player information, including:

• Player Name
• Platform Icon
• Level
• Badge
• Character Model

At the bottom of the ID Card, players will see their XP progress represented by a bar. However, whenever viewing other people’s ID Cards, the bar can be used to adjust their voice chat volume.

How to Customize ID Cards

All players start as interns and receive a simple ID Card Design. Character Models can be changed at any time by clicking on the model portrait and customizing their appearance. The badge on the ID Card can also be changed by clicking on the customize button in the top right corner. Players will earn more badges as they level up, participate in holiday/community events, or become a Kinetic Game Partner or employee.

Players will get Prestige Badges after they hit Prestige Level One. They earn this by reaching Level 100. The best way to earn XP is to correctly identify ghosts, survive hunts, and complete optional objectives.

Special Badges are only awarded under specific conditions. Holiday and Community Events, such as the 2025 Cursed Hollow Easter Event, result in at least one unique badge. These are only available for a limited time and cannot be earned after the event ends. Other Special Badges are given to players who work for Kinetic, including Discord members, partners, translators, and content winners.

Specific maps have Special Badges that players get whenever they identify a certain number of ghosts and survive the hunt.
