The SHiFT code system has been in use for Gearbox games for years now. It’s a useful way for the developer to give players in-game rewards. In Borderlands 4, these SHiFT codes are redeemed for either cosmetics or Golden Keys, depending on what Gearbox is giving out at the time. These keys can then be spent at Golden Chests, which drop tons of rare loot. There aren’t many more consistent ways to get Legendaries in Borderlands 4 than opening Golden Chests, which makes the keys a very valuable commodity.

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford shared the newest Borderlands 4 SHiFT code on X: JHXTB-RFWH3-C6335-TBBJB-JWWBH. Players who redeem it will receive three Golden Keys, which makes it well worth grabbing while it’s active. SHiFT codes only take a few seconds to redeem using a linked account on the SHiFT website. Gamers should be aware that this latest code is only active until December 23, so they only have a limited time to add it to their account.
Crucially, Borderlands 4 Golden Keys do not have an expiration date, even after the code can not be redeemed anymore. So players who grab these codes while they’re available don’t necessarily have to go straight to the Golden Chest to spend the keys immediately. It’s pretty common for players who have already completed the game and are no longer playing to continue redeeming the codes that Gearbox releases. That way, when they start a new playthrough in the future, they have a ton of Golden Keys to spend to quickly upgrade their new Vault Hunter.
How to Redeem Borderlands 4 SHiFT Codes
- Go to the SHiFT website. Log in to your SHiFT account. Create one if you don’t already have one.
- Via the “Gaming Platforms” tab, make sure that your SHiFT account is linked to your gaming account.
- Open the “Rewards” tab on the SHiFT website.
- Enter the SHiFT code under the “Code Redemption” header. Select the platform you want to redeem the code on.
Gearbox has been pretty generous in frequently handing out new SHiFT codes since Borderlands 4 was released. The developer has been releasing a new Borderlands 4 SHiFT code every week, which has allowed players to continue upgrading their in-game loot on a regular basis. There’s no reason to believe Gearbox will stop with the codes anytime soon, either.
