Before Battle Royale took the world by storm, Epic Games intended Save the World to be Fortnite‘s main game mode. However, Battle Royale took off and quickly became the game that players played the most, so Epic Games focused its primary resources on it instead.
Fortnite: All Peely Skins
Peely has become one of the most iconic mascots in Fortnite, and his library of incredible banana skins speaks for themselves.
When Save the World was in early access, it was believed that it would eventually become free-to-play like Battle Royale, but it didn’t happen. Gamers who never lost hope will be happy to learn that Fortnite Save the World will finally be available for free in April 2026. To celebrate this milestone, Fortnite is hosting a community event with free Save the World rewards, and this guide tells players what they need to know about it so they don’t miss out.
Fortnite Save the World Community Goals and Rewards
Save the World will become available for players on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch 2 starting April 16, 2026. To get players started on the right foot, they can claim some rewards for Save the World before it even goes live by participating in the community goal event.
Gamers can join the Save the World community goal event by visiting the official Save the World webpage and registering using their Epic Games account. As each milestone is achieved, everyone who has registered will receive it in Save the World. Here are three milestones in this event and the rewards that they will grant each player:
|
Milestone |
Goal |
Reward |
|---|---|---|
|
#1 |
300,000 registered players |
Save the World Jess banner |
|
#2 |
700,000 registered players |
Kyle’s construction spray |
|
#3 |
1,000,000 registered players |
Snowstrike hero |
The banner and spray can be used in both Battle Royale and Save the World. However, since the Snowstrike is a hero, it is exclusive to Save the World and not transferable to Battle Royale as a skin.
Players have until April 16, 2026, to register their account and participate in this community goal. As long as they do it before the event ends, they will be granted the rewards even if the goals have been reached before they registered.
