ARC Raiders Releases New 1.6.0 Update for December 2025

By newsgame

ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios has released a new patch for its third-person extraction shooter on December 11, bringing a handful of critical fixes to the game ahead of the big Cold Snap update next week. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can now download the ARC Raiders 1.6.0 update, which also brings a new store rotation with some fresh cosmetic items for players to get their hands on.

Despite launching smack bang in the middle of Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, ARC Raiders has managed to find huge success with gamers. Not only has Embark’s second title received rave reviews from critics and players, but it has also smashed its way into the Steam charts and become one of the platform’s most played games. Even six weeks on, ARC Raiders still peaks at more than 300,000 concurrent users every single day on Steam, with its lowest points still being more than 100,000 active players. This also doesn’t take into account those who play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, which means the actual figure is likely much higher.

I Spent 3 Painful Hours Only Using ARC Raiders’ Worst Weapon and Can Confirm: It Needs a Buff

While it’s debatable which ARC Raiders weapon is the best, after using this one, I think I’ve found the answer to which is the worst.

However, that’s not to say that the extraction shooter hasn’t had its fair share of issues. Embark has already had to hotfix an exploit that saw players glitching their way into locked rooms without the relevant keycard, but now the community has discovered a way to get out of bounds on certain maps, such as the massively popular Stella Montis. In a game like ARC Raiders where looting and making it out alive is part of the core gameplay loop, being killed by another player who is cheating by glitching their way out of the map can be massively frustrating. Thankfully, Embark seems to have now rectified the exploit with the latest update.

New ARC Raiders Update Fixes Stella Montis Exploit

While the latest ARC Raiders update doesn’t include any new content, there are a handful of critical fixes that should make the gameplay experience much more enjoyable. According to the official patch notes, which can be found further down this article, Embark has removed the zipline on Stella Montis, which was allowing players to get out of bounds. The studio also says it has fixed a collision that allowed players to vault and fall through a wall in Blue Gate, fixed material issues that caused multiple objects to not block bullet fire or ARC vision, and fixed a gap in the collision on Spaceport Launch Tower that allowed players to be shot through the wall.

Embark also noted in the patch notes that it intends to shift its update schedule from here on out. While ARC Raiders has received new patches every Thursday, the studio says it will no longer be on a weekly cadence moving forward. The new release window and store rotation will shift from Thursdays to Tuesdays, but Embark says the team will be taking a much-needed break over the holiday period, with more updates planned for January.

The good news is that players have the highly anticipated Cold Snap update for ARC Raiders to look forward to next week. Embark will be dropping the update on Tuesday, December 16, with a brand-new Snowfall Map Condition, a fresh Raider Deck, a new event known as Flickering Flames, and the departure window for the game’s first Expedition Project. The studio also noted in today’s patch notes that there will be many different fixes included in the update.
