Overwatch 2 Reveals New Mythic Skin for Junkrat

By newsgame

Overwatch 2 has revealed a new Mythic hero skin in the form of Cyber Fuel Junkrat, which transforms him into an awesome cyberpunk demolitionist. The second Mythic hero skin in Overwatch 2 Season 19 is now available for purchase across four tiers for a total of 80 Mythic Prisms.

Like every season before it, Overwatch 2 Season 19 launched with a new Mythic hero skin in the form of Divine Druid Lifeweaver. However, for the first time in history, Overwatch 2 confirmed it would be dropping a second Mythic hero skin in the form of Cyber Fuel Junkrat during its midseason update.

Now that Season 19 is halfway over, Overwatch 2 has officially revealed this incredible skin. Cyber Fuel Junkrat is straight out of Cyberpunk 2077, featuring bright colors, neon spraypaint, and futuristic sounds and elements reminiscent of Hazard and the Phreaks from Overwatch 2. What’s more, fans who unlock the full skin can toggle the skin’s special visual effects to completely transform the skin, turning his skin bright purple and covering his face with a frighteningly stylized holographic skull-like mask. The skin is available in the Mythic Shop in Overwatch 2 as of the mid-Season 19 update.

This Overwatch 2 Mythic skin was designed with its streamlined tier unlock philosophy in mind. The first tier unlocks the full basic skin and special visual and sound effects, while the second lets gamers customize Junkrat’s RIP-Tire from among three stellar options. Tier three adds the red and blue color options on top of the default green, and the final tier unlocks the transformative VFX that makes the skin truly stand out. Once the skin is fully unlocked, players can then purchase the Gilded or Iridescent Aspects to further personalize the skin.

Between its special effects and incredible visuals, many fans are saying it is the best Mythic hero skin yet, with some even wishing they had waited to buy Divine Druid Lifeweaver so they could pick up the Junkrat Mythic instead. Hopefully, future Overwatch 2 Mythic skins can live up to the high standard set by this incredible skin.

Unfortunately, this incredible Mythic skin has exacerbated an existing problem by putting an even greater demand on Mythic Prisms. Between Divine Druid Lifeweaver, Cyber Fuel Junkrat, and the Spirit Keeper Kiriko Mythic weapon skin, fans would need 240 Mythic Prisms in order to unlock all three of these cosmetics. It remains to be seen if this will be the new norm, but with only 80 Mythic Prisms in the Overwatch 2 Premium Battle Pass each season, their bi-monthly budgets are going to be even tighter than it was before.
