How to Get the Free Ray Gun Mark 2 in Ashes of the Damned (BO7 Zombies)

Jump Pad Puzzle, Explained

The first step requires you to turn on the power and open every area. Now, use every Jump Pad on the map in a circuit. You can make any Jump Pad your starting point. This means you’ll have to use 8 Jump Pads, which will cost a total of 4,000 Essence, and you’ll need to use every Jump Pad until you end up back where you started. For instance, we used this order: Blackwater Lake > Ashwood > Exit 115 > Zarya Cosmodrome > Ashwood > Vandorn Farm > Janus Towers Plaza > Blackwater Lake. Once you’ve closed a full loop of the Jump Pads, you’ll need to wait 4 Rounds.

After 4 Rounds have passed, head to Janus Towers Plaza and look to the north lights at the lobby, where the furthest left light will begin blinking. This light will blink in a random sequence of flashes, from 1 flash to 7 flashes. All you need to do is note the number of flashes, wait for the pause, then count the next number of flashes until the sequence is complete. You’ll know when the sequence is complete as a solid light will remain, and then the sequence will loop again.

So, count the flashes, wait for the pause, and count the flashes until you have your set of numbers. With your set of numbers, you’ll have to use the Jump Pads in that order. Behind every Jump Pad is a number, but we’ve translated which number belongs with each Jump Pad. For instance, our sequence read: 3, 6, 5, 7, 4, 1, 2, which means our order is: Ashwood > Zarya Cosmodrome > Exit 115 > Ashwood > Blackwater Lake > Janus Towers Plaza > Vandorn Farm. Here’s what each number translates to, and which Jump Pad to use:

  • 1 – Janus Towers Plaza
  • 2 — Vandorn Farm
  • 3 — Ashwood (in the Market Square towards Exit 115 and Zarya Cosmodrome)
  • 4 — Blackwater Lake
  • 5 – Exit 115
  • 6 – Zarya Cosmodrome
  • 7 — Ashwood (in the Rabbit Alley towards Vandorn Farm and Blackwater Lake)

The objective here is to take the first Jump Pad in your sequence and complete a loop in the exact order that your number appears. To finish the loop, use the Jump Pad where you currently are to return to Ashwood. Now, look up and find a purple portal in the sky.

This purple portal will be between any connecting Jump Pads. For instance, ours was in Vandorn Farm towards Janus Towers Plaza. Once you’ve found your portal, use the correct Jump Pad to launch yourself into it, which will see you teleport to Ashwood. A rift will open and spit out a bunch of dead zombies, along with free Essence, Bonus Points, potential Mystery Perks, and most importantly, a free Ray Gun Mark 2.

The Ray Gun Mark 2 is a more guaranteed drop if you do this easter egg after Round 15.

It’s also important to note that you should not use a Jump Pad out of sequence when doing this easter egg, as it will fail the step.
