Where Winds Meet Reveals Patch Notes for December 2 Update

By newsgame

The popular action RPG Where Winds Meet releases a new update for players, adding additional improvements and optimizations to the game. It’s been a huge launch window for developer Everstone Studios, though it isn’t standing idly by to revel in the success as it continues to release patches and provide new details for players about upcoming plans for Where Winds Meet.

After initially revealing the project back in 2022 at Gamescom, hype and excitement seemingly continued to build as the game approached its release. Ultimately, that led to Where Winds Meet breaking a massive player milestone in just 24 hours, welcoming 2 million players and being placed in the Top-5 for most played games on Steam. However, for all the success, Where Winds Meet wasn’t a perfect launch as it had its own share of issues and bugs. Everstone Studios continues to chip away on these problems, releasing another new update on December 2.

The latest update acknowledges the issues that players have seen in Where Winds Meet, and reconfirming the studio’s efforts to respond to those concerns and feedback. For the December 2 update, Where Winds Meet is targeting a lot of the audio-related issues impacting the game, including audio-visual syncing problems, missing music, and incorrect voice lines. The update also releases a new batch of dubbing, though the notes specifically confirm even more are planned for later this week.

The update also gives players a look ahead at some of the issues that Everstone Studios is working on. Specifically, the next update will feature plenty of UI-related optimizations, including improvements to text overflow and font size during dialogue. The Kaifeng Tour Map in Where Winds Meet will be localized for multiple languages, healer interfaces will have a better layout, and the Equipment Tuning interface will also be undergoing some changes. Currently, these updates are expected to arrive on January 9 with the Version 1.2 patch.

Feedback continues to be paramount for the studio, taking in concerns and reports from its players to target specific problems. In fact, the studio has expressed thanks to the warm reception and its community by offering all Where Winds Meet players a free gift of Lingering Melody to use. This is a premium resource that players can use to pull for characters on limited-time banners. The gift was made available to be claimed simply by logging in.

Optimizations and bug fixes aren’t the only post-launch updates Everstone Studios has planned. In fact, inside the November 28 update for the Chinese servers, Where Winds Meet added the Ink Structure mechanic, which many fans compared to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s Ultrahand ability. Essentially, players could use materials and resources to create their own vehicles, allowing them to showcase their creativity.
