Diablo 4’s Doom Collab Can’t Be a One-and-Done Bethesda Partnership

By newsgame

One of the biggest surprises Diablo 4 players can expect to see during the upcoming Season of Slaughter is a new IP collaboration with Doom: The Dark Ages. Developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, Doom: The Dark Ages was a stand-out shooter in 2025, getting a nomination for Best Action Game and taking home the award for Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards 2025. Now, Diablo 4 players will get to outfit their character with a variety of cosmetics reminiscent of the Doom Slayer and iconic enemies from the Doom series when this collab launches on March 11.

Given that both IPs focus on slaying the demonic forces of Hell, it’s not surprising to see the gritty world of Doom: The Dark Ages crossover with Diablo 4. Although Doom has an aesthetic that mixes technology with medieval fantasy and occult imagery, the cosmetics included in this collab still feel at home in Diablo 4, especially compared to more sci-fi franchises like StarCraft that Diablo 4 has also collaborated with. This Doom crossover also opens the door for future Diablo 4 collabs with other Bethesda IPs, some of which seem like perfect matches for Blizzard’s dark fantasy ARPG.

Diablo 4 Season 12 is adding a variety of new Uniques alongside the Killstreak mechanic, making it the perfect season to play this class.

Diablo 4 Season 12’s Doom: The Dark Ages Collab Might Be the Best Yet

A major selling point of the Diablo 4 x Doom: The Dark Ages collab is the most expansive free Reliquary that the game has offered for an IP collab to date. Past Diablo 4 crossovers with franchises like Berserk and StarCraft were met with mixed reactions from players, since the majority of the cosmetics on offer were premium purchases with hefty price tags. Now, it feels like Blizzard has listened to fan feedback and worked to make this Doom collab more exciting for players who would rather not shell out for premium cosmetics.

Cosmetics Confirmed for the Diablo 4 x Doom: The Dark Ages Collab

  • Free Reliquary

    • Shield Saw
    • Slayer’s Flail
    • Head of the Cyberdemon back trophy
    • Forsaken Gates town portal
    • and more
  • Premium Cosmetics

    • Doom Slayer armor
    • Mecha Dragon Serrat cat mount
    • Cacodemon pet

Players can also claim free Doom-themed emblems in the Diablo 4 shop throughout the duration of the event, including “Dark Before the Dawn” on March 11, “Grandeur of the Gutted” on March 13, and “Rip and Tear” on March 15.

For players wanting the full Doom Slayer armor for their Diablo 4 character, they will need to purchase the premium skin from the Diablo 4 shop. However, players can earn a variety of free cosmetics based on the weapons of Doom: The Dark Ages, including the new Shield Saw weapon, through the free Reliquary that the game will be offering during this collab. Additionally, Diablo 4‘s Lair Bosses have the chance to drop certain Uniques with Doom Crucible transmogs to give players even more opportunities to participate in this Doom crossover event.

Other Bethesda Franchises Deserve to Crossover with Diablo 4

With Diablo 4 pulling out all the stops for this Doom: The Dark Ages collab, it would be a wasted opportunity if Doom were the only Bethesda IP that the game collaborated with. Bethesda has several franchises that would be perfect candidates for Diablo 4 collabs in the future, and the expansive nature of this Doom collab could be laying the foundation for Blizzard to expand its partnership with Bethesda for more Diablo 4 content.

What a Diablo 4 x Elder Scrolls Crossover Could Look Like

Oblivion Remastered fan creates their own custom game case to make up for the lack of a physical release.

  • Daedric Armor skin
  • Daedric Weapon transmogs
  • Flame, Frost, and Storm Atronach pets
  • Oblivion Gate town portal

A Diablo 4 x The Elder Scrolls collab seems like an obvious next choice for a partnership with Bethesda, as the two franchises feature a similar fantasy aesthetic. An obvious cosmetic that could come from this collaboration would be a skin based on Skyrim‘s Daedric Armor, along with weapon transmogs based on the Daedric Weapons that could be included in a free Reliquary like the ones for the upcoming Doom collab. It would also be fun to see iconic Elder Scrolls creatures like the Elemental Atronachs in miniature form as pets for Diablo 4 players. Another slam-dunk cosmetic for a collab like this would be a town portal skin designed to look like the iconic Oblivion Gates that pop up around Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls 4.

A Diablo 4 x Fallout Collab Would Work Surprisingly Well

Fallout's Deathclaw

  • T-60 Power Armor skin
  • Super Sledge, Shishkebab, and Ripper weapon transmogs
  • Dogmeat pet
  • Deathclaw Head back trophy
  • Vault Door town portal

It might be a bit odd for a dark fantasy game like Diablo 4 to crossover with a post-apocalyptic sci-fi series like Fallout, but Diablo 4‘s StarCraft crossover proves that breaking from Diablo 4‘s typical aesthetic can work. The Fallout series has some surprisingly great cosmetics that could make their way into Diablo 4, such as the series’ iconic T-60 Power Armor, which could be a skin for Diablo 4 characters. Weapon transmogs are a little trickier to pull off since Fallout is so focused on guns, but melee weapons like the Super Sledge, Shishkebab, and Ripper line up well with the weapon types already in Diablo 4.

Since most Diablo 4 collabs tend to feature a unique pet for players to earn, Fallout‘s Dogmeat companion seems like an obvious choice since Diablo 4 already features other dog companions. The Cyberdemon Head back trophy included in the Doom collab could inspire a Deathclaw Head back trophy for a potential Fallout crossover, and a town portal skin based on a Vault Door would complete the Fallout theme. It’s unclear what other IP collabs Diablo 4 has in store for players, but anything seems on the table now after Doom: The Dark Ages makes its way to Sanctuary.
