REANIMAL encourages exploration, and some of its most easily missed secrets come in the form of spider-like creatures called critters scattered throughout the game. They aren’t tied to the main story, but eliminating them all unlocks masks and the Critter Hit Kill achievement. Since many of these critters are tucked off the main path or hidden in dark corners, it’s easy to overlook them without a guide. This article breaks down every critter location REANIMAL, helping you track them all down across all chapters.

There’s a secret ending to REANIMAL’s story that players can get by finding all the coffins in the game, and also unlock the Friends Reunited trophy.

All Critter Locations in REANIMAL (Critter Hit Kill Achievement)

There are a total of five Critters that players can hunt down in REANIMAL, each giving players a unique mask to wear on their characters. Here’s how to find them all.

REANIMAL Critter Location 1 (Chapter Two: The Cleansing House)

Players can find the first Critter in chapter two, after arriving in the village. Once you’ve acquired the Crowbar, you’ll eventually make your way back to the front of the Cinema. Before going to the alleyway, you’ll need to head in the direction of the camera, and you’ll spot a boarded-up door on the right side of the broken road.

Inside the room, you’ll spot a traffic cone that has a spider-like creature underneath it. You’ll need to use the Boy’s Crowbar or the Girl’s Knife to attack the critter until it’s eliminated. Players will receive the Cone Head mask by taking down the Critter in chapter two.

REANIMAL Critter Location 2 (Chapter Three: After the Flood)

After going through the boat section in chapter three, players will eventually need to climb a long ladder that will lead to a large field of flowers. Instead of heading forward, keep going left from the field until you spot a scarecrow in the distance.

Approach the scarecrow and hit it with a melee weapon. A Critter will fall off the scarecrow, and you’ll need to make quick work of it to get the Deer Head mask.

REANIMAL Critter Location 3 (Chapter Four: No Shelter)

After the bus ride ends, players will reach the Orphanage in chapter four. Since the front door is locked, you’ll be forced to climb ladders at the side of the entrance to head to the upper section of the building, and enter through a large clock. To the far right of the room, you’ll need to crouch down and walk through the bookshelf to reach a secret area.

While inside the room, you’ll find one of the Posters on the right wall. However, upon exiting the room, you’ll encounter a Critter running around. Eliminate the Critter in this room to receive the Bucket Head mask.

REANIMAL Critter Location 4 (Chapter Six: Nobody Left Behind)

At the start of chapter six, players will make their way through the tunnels and into a military installation (bunker). You’ll need to head through the door to the right to reach the balcony and start up the generator to restore power. There’s a crate with a picture of a fish that you can push off the railing. Doing this is mandatory for the Critter to spawn.

Once you complete the Secret Bunker section and start descending the ladder leading to the beach, you’ll need to go to the leftmost area of the beach (before interacting with the boat).

Quickly eliminate the Critter to get the Fish Head mask in REANIMAL.

REANIMAL Critter Location 5 (Chapter Eight: The Watcher)

Players will eventually make their way through a room with soldiers hanging from poles. After using a weapon to take the key from one of them, head through the door to the right. As soon as you enter this new area, you’ll spot an oven on the ground that you can jimmy open with the Crowbar to release a Critter from inside.

The Critter will run into the pipes leading to the hanging soldiers’ room. Follow the Critter back into the room and pick up a weapon to shoot it down. After eliminating the final Critter in REANIMAL Chapter eight, players will receive the Gas Head mask.

After eliminating all five Critters, players will unlock the Critter Hit Kill trophy in REANIMAL.
