World of Warcraft Kicks Off the Lunar Festival 2026 With New Rewards
The Lunar Festival is back in World of Warcraft for 2026, featuring a handful of new Lunar New Year cosmetics for fans to collect. From now until March 2, World of Warcraft fans can exchange Coins of Ancestry to add these Transmog items to their collections.
In World of Warcraft, the Lunar Festival is the in-game counterpart to the Lunar New Year celebrated in China. During this event, players can set off fireworks, visit Elders hidden across Azeroth to collect Coins of Ancestry, and help quell the rage of Omen, the mad Wild God. The holiday includes several achievements, flower crown Transmogs, a cosmetic Hearthstone toy, and even the Lunar Launcher mount added to WoW during last year’s event.

The Ornate Violet Lunar Festival Attire costs 75 Coins of Ancestry, while each of the weapons and the Sunny Pack of Lunar Explosives costs 25. This means fans will need to collect 200 Coins of Ancestry in total to purchase all of these items. One Coin of Ancestry is awarded for honoring each of the Elders scattered around Azeroth, and with about 100 Elders currently in the game, players will need to make the rounds on more than one character in order to buy all of these Transmogs.
The items themselves are purple recolors of existing Transmogs that players can get through other means. The Ornate Crimson Lunar Festival Attire and matching red weapons are available for purchase as a part of the World of Warcraft Trading Post this month, while the Lively Pack of Lunar Explosives is the free reward for completing the Traveler’s Log. Likewise, the Ornate Pink Lunar Festival Attire was the free reward from the Trading Post in February 2025 and can no longer be obtained in the game unless it returns in the future.
