One proposed ARC Raiders tweak would be an absolute game-changer and make it even harder to stop playing
One ARC Raiders player has suggested that Embark Studios should consider changing the way loot spawns on each map from week to week in order to keep the community from falling into familiar patterns, which turned out to be a big hit with fellow fans. ARC Raiders was released on October 30 and is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Despite releasing fairly close to other major shooters like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, ARC Raiders has been a massive success. The popular extraction shooter even managed to hit a new concurrent player record on Steam during the launch weekend of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Of course, Embark Studios has been hard at work to keep fans engaged, as it recently released a new community event and a map called Stella Montis. However, as a live-service title, many gamers are wondering what the future looks like for ARC Raiders. While adding new maps can certainly convince players to keep coming back for more, some fans are making their own suggestions that could elevate the title even further.
ARC Raiders Players Want Loot Spawns to Change Over Time
In a recent post on Reddit, Ausrivo suggested that Embark Studios could make ARC Raiders even better by changing the way loot spawns on a weekly basis. Currently, loot areas on ARC Raiders‘ maps remain fairly consistent, with yellow locations containing a medium amount of loot and red areas containing a high amount. These areas don’t really change, which allows gamers to fall into familiar patterns. Ausrivo’s suggestion, which many other fans seemed to agree with, would make each week pretty different. Instead of always running to a favorite spot, players might be encouraged to explore the whole map again every week in the hopes of discovering that perfect loot area.
As with many games, familiarity can be both a blessing and a curse. While knowing a map like the back of one’s hand allows players to develop efficient loot paths in ARC Raiders, it can also eliminate some of the spontaneity that makes each match unique. Gamers trying to hunt down some of the title’s best blueprints can become entrenched in the grind, constantly running to the same areas, encountering similar scenarios, and losing the initial excitement and mystery that came with exploring a map for the first time. While Ausrivo’s suggestion wouldn’t stop people from becoming familiar with a map in general, adding variety to the game’s loot spawns could give players more reasons to jump into the extraction shooter each week to see what’s different. This could also make player encounters a little less predictable, as teams and solo gamers might not feel as if they’re constantly being funneled into the same high-value locations.
When the popular extraction shooter first launched, the yellow and red areas marked on ARC Raiders‘ maps gave players an idea of where they should go to start collecting loot. As time has gone on, players have discovered incredible loot spots outside these zones, though they don’t stay a secret for long. For instance, ARC Raiders‘ Blue Gate map contains a lucrative loot path that can help gamers acquire all the materials they need to upgrade their workshop. However, this path isn’t limited to just resources, as players can also find guns and blueprints to take home. The path begins at Reinforced Reception, which isn’t marked as a yellow or red zone.
As more and more people have discovered the Reinforced Reception loot path through content creators, guides, and other players, the area has become quite volatile. A lot of Raiders enter a match on the Blue Gate map and start by running to Reinforced Reception, which means the fighting starts almost immediately. While this can be good for pushing players into conflict with one another, it can also become frustrating and repetitive, potentially diminishing the enjoyment of gamers over time. Ausrivo’s suggestion would likely help to solve this problem, as every week players would need to discover new paths and locations that contain the game’s best loot. Since ARC Raiders is so new, there’s no way of knowing how Embark Studios will respond, but many gamers are hoping that the developers will take the suggestion into consideration. After all, Embark Studios did lower the price of cosmetics and added a duos mode to ARC Raiders based on player feedback.
