How Long is Visions of Four Heroes? (Dynasty Warriors Origins DLC Length)

By newsgame

A little over one year on from its initial release date, Dynasty Warriors: Origins returns with a Switch 2 port and a shiny new DLC expansion. As the name might suggest, Visions of Four Heroes introduces four new storylines to the 2025 title, as well as a bunch of new side content. However, given its $34.99 price-tag, you may well be wondering whether it’s really worth the relatively high cost of admission.

How Long is Dynasty Warriors Origins?

Those wondering how long it takes to beat Dynasty Warriors: Origins have come to the right place, as we have times for every type of playthrough.

Chances are, if you enjoyed the base game, you’re probably going to enjoy the DLC as well, as it’s basically just more of the same with a few extra bells and whistles tacked on. If you’re still on the fence, though, understanding exactly how much new content the Dynasty Warriors: Origins DLC adds may be an important factor in your decision, so here’s how long it took us to beat Visions of Four Heroes.

Each of the four main storylines that make up Visions of Four Heroes takes between two and three hours to complete. As such, players can expect to finish the main story of the Dynasty Warriors: Origins DLC in around ten hours. Maxing out the two new weapons, completing all of the skirmishes and side quests, and unlocking all of the Dream Skills will take another ten hours or so, so all in all, you’re looking at around 20-hours of new content, give or take. It’s worth noting that all of the battles and skirmishes in the DLC seem to reuse maps from the base game, so “new” might not be the best word here, but the storylines and scenarios are still unique to the expansion.

Is the Dynasty Warriors: Origins DLC Worth the Money?

While there are plenty of great indie games that can be picked up for under $35, you’ll struggle to find a hack-and-slash game of this quality offering content at a better hourly rate. At around $1.75 per hour, you’re getting pretty good value for money here, with the added advantage of knowing that if you enjoyed playing the base game, you’re almost certainly going to have fun with the DLC. The best play here is to complete the base game and then buy the DLC if you still find yourself wanting more. If you liked Origins but feel like you need a break, stick the DLC on your watchlist and pick it up when it inevitably goes on sale. Either way, it’s unlikely that you’ll be disappointed.
