Marathon Will Star Big Actors from Clair Obscur and Baldur’s Gate 3

Marathon will have several English voice actors that gamers may recognize, as Bungie has confirmed which voices will appear at the game’s launch. Although their exact roles have not been revealed as of this writing, some of the voice actors who will appear in Marathon previously worked on award-winning games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Overwatch.

As a reboot of Bungie’s FPS trilogy that originally launched on Macintosh computers in the mid-1990s, Marathon is described as a multiplayer extraction shooter with PvP elements. Although Bungie is a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Marathon will not require players to have a PlayStation Network account if the game is accessed on Steam or an Xbox Series X/S console. Marathon will launch globally on March 5, with preorders now available on digital storefronts. The game starts at $39.99 for the standard edition, though the price can reach as high as $229.99 for the physical collector’s edition and game code bundle.

Along with revealing the goods that Marathon players will get for pre-ordering the game, Bungie unveiled the English voice cast for the upcoming title. Marathon‘s English voice cast features 33 voice actors that some gamers may recognize from other projects. Three cast members from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Jennifer English, Ben Starr, and Tracy Wiles, were revealed to be part of Marathon‘s vocal lineup. English is known for her award-winning performance as Maelle in Expedition 33, along with her previous work as Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3. English will also play the role of Gwendolyn in the upcoming action game Tides of Annihilation. Comparatively, Starr’s work includes his portrayal of Verso in Expedition 33, Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy 16, and Prometheus in Hades 2. As for Wiles, she voiced The Paintress in Expedition 33, Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Joanna Calendula in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

In addition to English and Wiles, two more actors from Baldur’s Gate 3‘s award-winning voice cast were also listed in Marathon‘s roster. Both Neil Newbon and Samantha Béart, known for playing the fan-favorite characters Astarion and Karlach, respectively, were credited on Marathon‘s vocal list. It is currently unknown what each voice actor’s exact roles will be in Marathon, so fans must wait for more information about which characters the voice cast will portray. Despite the lack of a character list, Bungie confirmed that Marathon will have fully-localized dialogue in all languages that the game supports, including Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean. The vocal rosters for Marathon‘s non-English localizations will be revealed at a later date closer to the game’s launch.

Although Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Baldur’s Gate 3 have multiple actors that will appear in Marathon, the roster also includes actors known for their work on different award-winning projects. Marathon‘s English cast includes Overwatch voice actors Darin De Paul and Fred Tatasciore, known for their time as Reinhardt and Soldier: 76, respectively. De Paul also lent his talents to Final Fantasy 15, where he voiced the game’s main villain, Ardyn Izunia. The list also mentioned Roger Clark, known for his work as Red Dead Redemption 2‘s leading man Arthur Morgan, and Erica Lindbeck, who has appeared in various games such as Persona 5, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Genshin Impact.

Despite Marathon undergoing a notorious art plagiarism controversy and a release date delay following waves of negative feedback, the game’s March 5 launch is just over a month away as of this writing. With a star-studded voice cast, and changes made in response to feedback from testers, a lot is riding on Marathon‘s success. But, given that shooters like ARC Raiders and Battlefield 6 have proven popular with gamers throughout 2025, it remains to be seen how Marathon will comparatively fare despite its checkered past.
