World of Warcraft Reveals What Happens to Legion Remix Characters After the Event

World of Warcraft: Legion Remix is almost over, and ahead of its end, Blizzard has shared exactly what happens to their characters when they transfer over for the Midnight Pre-Expansion Update. Fans should be sure to log in to their Legion Remix characters before then to prepare them for the move, all while snagging a new World of Warcraft Feat of Strength achievement in the process.

Legion Remix is a limited-time game mode that began October 7, 2025. During the event, players could speed through the popular expansion, obtaining brand-new and hard-to-get cosmetics with ease, all while leveling their World of Warcraft characters exceptionally fast and earning tons of achievements. Sadly, Legion Remix won’t be around forever; the event wraps up with the arrival of the WoW: Midnight Pre-Expansion Update on January 20.

What Happens to WoW: Legion Remix Characters After the Event?

Now, World of Warcraft has come forth with more details about what happens to their Timerunner characters once Legion Remix is over. Fans will keep their characters and names, all of which will be automatically transferred over to the main World of Warcraft game. However, the following things will not be brought with them, and will be deleted:

Remix quests, including Infinite Research dailies
Remix items, including bags, summoning scrolls, and reputation tokens
Remix currencies, including Bronze used to buy rewards during the World of Warcraft event
Remix gear, which will be replaced by a full set of item level 102 gear
- This gear is the strength of 655 gear before the Midnight item level squish
- Lower-level characters will have their gear scaled down appropriately

That said, plenty of things will be kept when transferring as well, including:

All gold earned during the event, plus an additional 2,000
All Legion currencies, including Veiled Argunite and Order Resources
All obtained achievements and reputations
All non-Remix items and quests, including obtained Artifacts and Legion campaign progress
A full set of 30-slot bags and a 26-slot reagent bag

Once the transfer is complete, the characters can be freely played as if they were never Timerunners, though players will need to own The War Within in order to log in to characters above level 70 as per usual. The WoW: Midnight Pre-Expansion Update arrives the same day characters are transferred, but the Twilight Ascension Pre-Patch event starts a week later, which should provide an awesome opportunity to score some catch-up gear before the new expansion releases.

World of Warcraft: Legion Remix Isn’t Over Quite Yet

There are still a few days left of Legion Remix, however, and World of Warcraft is making sure the event goes out with a bang. Fans who log into the game between now and the end of the event can earn the elusive “Cloudy With a Chance of Infernals” Feat of Strength achievement, and enjoy some of the zany chaos therein. The temporal anomaly above Dalaran has grown significantly larger, and the Lost Legion Infernals from the final phase have become Infernals of the End Times, who spawn far more frequently. Lastly, all characters have the Out of Time buff, which confers 50% bonus movement speed.

Before the end of Legion Remix, players should be sure to spend all of their Bronze, prioritizing items that can’t be obtained outside the event first, such as the Violet Spellwing mount, or difficult-to-obtain WoW items like the Nightmare and Chronos Weapon Enchantment Illusions. Fans who have already bought every item might want to consider spending their excess Bronze on extra copies of the Legion Remix-specific Housing decor items. While players will be able to buy them from Val’zuun in the sewers of Dalaran after the event, they will cost a lot of Order Resources and Veiled Argunite, making Legion Remix the best time to stock up.
