ARC Raiders Concept is Borderline Genius

By newsgame

An ARC Raiders player and UI designer has created a genius new concept that would make managing inventory space and general menu navigation a thousand times easier, solving many of the community’s biggest gripes. As an extraction shooter, ARC Raiders has tons of items, weapons, and gear to manage, but its lack of quality-of-life features in relation to its UI often results in spending more time in Speranza than it does fighting ARC and other enemies Topside.

While there are definitely some much-needed improvements, ARC Raiders has been a massive success for developer Embark Studios and its parent company, Nexon. According to the latter, ARC Raiders has already sold 2.4 million copies in 2026, with 12.4 million copies sold to date. Not only are player and critic reviews glowing, with a ‘very positive’ Steam rating and an 86 Metacritic score, but the shooter is continuing to dominate, peaking at over 960,000 concurrent players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC earlier this month. While some expected Embark’s second release to have a rough launch due to its release date being sandwiched between Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, gamers are showing their eagerness for something new and fresh, as ARC Raiders has managed to maintain 91% of its active player base on Steam.

ARC Raiders Player Creates Genius UI Concept

Embark Studios has continued to release a steady stream of new ARC Raiders updates following its massive launch late last year, but one thing players are eager to see is improvements to the game’s user interface. With plenty of weapons, gear, and items to manage and store, players have thrown out tons of different suggestions, but one fan has taken things to another level with a concept for some major UI improvements. Reddit user PEX_UX, who is a professional UI designer, complimented Embark’s excellent UI and designers for making a “complex game so easy to navigate.” However, they then supplied nine changes aimed at being constructive feedback for the team “to make the UI even more streamlined and powerful for players.”

The full set of changes and new designs can be found in the post below, which includes some of the community’s most-requested features. The first would give players the ability to see their squad members’ loadouts while in the lobby, as a way to “enhance team synergy.” Another concept would let players equip custom loadouts with a single click, allowing them to get Topside much quicker and reducing the time spent organizing their inventory.

The response to these new UI changes has been massively positive, with fellow ARC Raiders players even saying that there are some designs that they didn’t even know they needed. “Love it. Absolutely are things I really would expect in a game like this. Probably the biggest gripe I have with the game right now,” one user responded.

It’s currently unknown what changes Embark currently has in store for the future of ARC Raiders, but leaks and rumors suggest that the next major content update could arrive next week with a new Toxic Swamp map modifier. Embark introduced the Cold Snap event in December, which added a new map event with blistering temperatures that forced players to seek shelter or risk taking damage from the weather. With the event now over, Cold Snap has been removed from the game, but in-game data suggests the next modifier could arrive as soon as January 20.
