Marvel Rivals’ Galacta Bots Have a Secret Moveset
A Marvel Rivals player has discovered that the Galacta Bots in the popular hero shooter’s practice range actually have a secret moveset, meaning they could become playable at some point in the future. Marvel Rivals is currently nearing the end of Season 5, which added the iconic X-Men characters Rogue and Gambit to the game’s ever-expanding roster. NetEase Games also recently released a new skin for Loki, which actually gives players the option to play as a female version of the hero.
With Season 5 of Marvel Rivals coming to a close, many players are wondering what NetEase Games has planned for Season 6. At The Game Awards, the developer revealed that Elsa Bloodstone and Deadpool will be coming to Marvel Rivals, though players haven’t been told which roles the characters will fill. In fact, NetEase Games has been having a bit of fun with the community, as Deadpool’s hero icon has appeared on the roster as a Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. While some players believe this is just an example of NetEase Games using Deadpool for a bit of a laugh, others think the developer could be hinting at something more. Numerous gamers have suggested that Deadpool could be the first hero to take on multiple roles, though nobody knows what that would actually mean for his ability kit. Either way, fans won’t have to wait much longer for answers, as Season 6 is scheduled to make its debut on January 16.
Marvel Rivals Update for January 2026 Brings Changes to 4 Heroes
NetEase reveals patch notes for the January 8, 2026 update for Marvel Rivals, making adjustments to 4 heroes while also upgrading its test kitchen.
Marvel Rivals’ Galacta Bots Have a Secret Moveset
In a recent post on Reddit, ShadowTheHedgehog_72 shared a video that revealed a secret moveset for the Galacta Bots in the game’s practice range. The video, which has since been removed, revealed that the Galacta Bots are actually Strategists in Marvel Rivals, and they have the ability to shoot a green healing beam that appears to be pretty powerful. In addition to the healing beam, the Galacta Bots have a melee attack that allows them to headbutt a foe. While the move looks a little silly, it does mean that NetEase Games gave the Galacta Bots a way to genuinely participate in combat. Some players have suggested that the Galacta Bots could become playable at some point, though they likely wouldn’t be a true hero on the roster.
Instead, several members of the community suggested that the Galacta Bots could become playable as part of a new game mode in Marvel Rivals. One person even floated the idea of a mode where a large number of players controlling Galacta Bots could face off against a few people controlling superheroes. While the idea of playing a Galacta Bot as part of a limited-time mode might seem like a stretch, it isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility. NetEase Games has introduced a wide variety of limited-time game modes since the title’s launch in 2024. In 2025, NetEase Games launched a Marvel Zombies mode in Marvel Rivals that allows players to face off against waves of NPC enemies as Jeff the Land Shark, Thor, The Punisher, Magik, or Blade. The mode proved to be so popular that NetEase Games extended its window of availability several times. In fact, as of writing, the Marvel Zombies mode is still available.
Executive Producer Danny Koo recently revealed that NetEase Games is just getting started and has big plans for Marvel Rivals in 2026. He noted that the success of the Marvel Zombies mode, along with other modes like Annihilation, have heavily influenced the developer’s 2026 plans. This means fans will likely see even more creative modes that focus on offering unique experiences that significantly alter the way the game is played. While Koo didn’t go into specifics, his comments have excited many players hoping to see even more heroes, modes, and features come to the popular hero shooter. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many players are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
