Upcoming LEGO Set is Giving Fans Exactly What They Want, And I Can’t Wait

By newsgame

2026 is going to be a huge year for LEGO for a number of reasons. Just this week, LEGO revealed its new Smart Play system, which uses Smart pieces to create deeper immersion in its sets, which kicks off with a trio of Star Wars offerings in March. As well, LEGO kicks off its big partnership with Pokemon this year, including some rumored sets that range from affordable to absolutely massive. But there’s one upcoming LEGO set that has me very excited, and new information suggests it’s exactly what fans have been waiting for.

I’ve already talked at length about how the upcoming LEGO Legend of Zelda set is going to be one of the most anticipated, especially for gamers and fans of Nintendo’s long-running franchise. The Deku Tree set that was released two years ago set a high bar for what Nintendo and LEGO could create, with its dual-build concept where you could either create the Deku Tree from LoZ: Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild. As a result, excitement is sky high when it comes to the next Legend of Zelda set, even if we have no idea what the set will include. Until, now.

The Upcoming Legend of Zelda LEGO Set Could Feature An Iconic Villain From The Franchise

The latest details surrounding the upcoming Legend of Zelda LEGO set suggest that it will feature Ganon, the iconic villain seen throughout the franchise. Ganon has existed in many forms, and is easily one of the most recognizable villains throughout video games, so it makes perfect sense that he would be featured as part of the next LEGO set.

Speculation had already suggested that Ganon would be a major part of the Legend of Zelda set, as teased by the reveal video late last year. In that video, you can see Link in his Ocarina of Time tunic watching as a massive, shadowed figure looms closer. You can also see Zelda in what appears to be her OoT dress after the major time jump in the game.

Speaking of those Ganon forms, we still don’t know how the villain will appear in the LEGO Legend of Zelda set. Presumably if this is a large-scale set like a dioroma or a scene from Ocarina of Time, then it makes sense for it to be Beast Ganon and not just Gerudo form Ganon.

LEGO did some fantastic things, like bringing Bowser to life for his LEGO set, so it would be perfect if Ganon got the same treatment. The intricacy in the Bowser build makes every detail shine and there are just as many, if not more, cool details on Beast Ganon. That being said, I would hope that LEGO includes a Gerudo Ganon mini-figure so that we can have a Triforce trio for our collection.

The bad news is that if the rumors from last year are true, then this LEGO Ganon Legend of Zelda set won’t be as large as the Deku Tree (2,500+ pieces) or Bowser (2,800+ pieces). The rumor says the LEGO set clocks in at just over 1,000 pieces, which puts it on the smaller scale compared to a lot of the more elaborate sets that LEGO has released over the last few years.

The good news, though, is that the piece count suggests this will be a more affordable LEGO set, which we need more of these days. The LEGO Legend of Zelda Deku Tree set is expensive at $250 and many of the more intriguing IP collaborations like the Stranger Things Creel House have been around that same price range. If this set were to come in around $100 or $150, then it would be much more accessible for a lot of Zelda fans.

Time will tell when this Legend of Zelda LEGO set gets its official reveal, but if the prior rumors are to be believed then it should release some time in March. As a result, I would expect a reveal at some point this month, alongside more details about the upcoming Pokemon sets that will start hitting soon.
