Battlefield 6 Players Already Have a Major Issue With New Eastwood Map
The next Battlefield 6 map, known as Eastwood, is set to launch as part of a new content update on November 18. However, despite not being officially released yet, the Battlefield 6 community has already discovered a significant flaw with the map. Players have taken to social media to express their disappointment with Eastwood, with some even stating that they are “close to giving up on the game” due to the lackluster maps.
On October 28, DICE released the first major content update for Battlefield 6 as part of the shooter’s inaugural season. Season 1 will be divided into three major updates, with the second set to arrive on November 18, featuring a new map, a limited-time mode known as Sabotage, additional new weapons, and more. The third and final update of Season 1, officially known as Winter Offensive, will be deployed on December 9, with a winter-themed map, a limited-time event, and a new Pickaxe melee weapon.
Battlefield 6 Players Point Out Major Flaw With Eastwood
Fans haven’t even had the chance to go hands-on with Battlefield 6‘s new Eastwood map yet, but it already appears to be causing concern among the community. In a new post on Reddit, one user highlighted the layout of the objectives for Conquest. The player rightly points out that four of the five objective points are extremely close to the HQ points, which could make for some unfair advantages on either side. The user also takes shots at the overall size of the HQs, stating that they are almost the same size as the playable area when combined.
This isn’t the first time that fans have taken issue with Battlefield 6‘s maps. Shortly after its release, fans took to social media to blast the new Blackwell Fields map, which was released as part of the game’s Season 1 update on October 28. Some even went as far as to call it the worst map in Battlefield history, largely due to the linear design, open spaces, and overall size. Blackwell Fields also appears to have launched with numerous glitches, as one user showcased a strange bug that caused them to fly through the air.
Although Battlefield 6 has received rave reviews from both players and critics, the community has made it clear that they have a serious disdain for the game’s maps. Unlike Call of Duty, Battlefield is all about large-scale battles that can last up to 40 minutes at a time. So it only makes sense that this kind of gameplay requires bigger maps. Unfortunately, the community believes the latest entry in the series is attempting to cater to the Call of Duty playerbase, as many of Battlefield 6‘s maps are simply too small.
