Pokemon Fan Designs Mega Evolutions for Porygon-Z, Meowstic, and Tatsugiri
A Pokemon fan artist took to social media to share some Mega Evolution concepts they made for Meowstic, Tatsugiri, and Porygon-Z. Each piece of the Pokemon fan artist’s new Mega Evolution concepts was additionally rendered in the graphical style of Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and other trainers complimented them for their continued handiwork.
As the main battle gimmick of Pokemon‘s sixth mainline generation, Mega Evolution allows specific Pokemon to temporarily assume a more powerful Mega form to enhance their stats or even change their elemental typing in some cases. Though other battle gimmicks like Terrastalization and Dynamaxing were used in later Pokemon generations, Mega Evolution was brought back in Pokemon Legends: Z-A as the main focus. Along with the return of previous Mega-Evolved Pokemon like Mega Lucario, new Mega forms for creatures like Feraligatr, Meganium, and Emboar were brought into the spotlight.
Pokemon Fan Artist Shares New Mega Form Concepts of Three Critters
With more Mega Evolution forms arriving in Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Dimension DLC, a Pokemon fan artist shared what three Pokemon would look like if they were given a Mega Stone. On the Pokemon subreddit, fan artist HertzBurst shared concepts for Mega Meowstic, Mega Tatsugiri, and Mega Porygon-Z. HertzBurst’s artwork mimicked the graphical style of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. As for the Pokemon that were designed, Mega Tatstugiri’s appearance gave it a collar that looked like a sushi roll, and it was given angled eyebrows shaped like chopsticks. Mega Tatsugiri also retained its Curly, Droopy, and Stretchy forms. The male and female forms of Meowstic were combined for Mega Meowstic’s design. In short, Mega Meowstic’s design incorporated the male variant’s spiky hair tufts and ear patterns with the female’s white fur and curled tails. Mega Meowstic was also given six tails, with three on each side.
Although HertzBurtz previously made a Paradox concept for Porygon-Z, the Virtual Pokemon was also granted a Mega-Evolved form in the artist’s latest handiwork. Porygon-Z’s erratic power was on full display, as additional shapes floated around its main body while some of its rounded limbs reverted to the sharp trapezoids used by Porygon. In response, Pokemon fans complimented HertzBurtz’s latest design concepts, with some pointing out the chopstick design behind Mega Tatsugiri’s eyebrows.
According to leaks concerning Pokemon Legends Z-A‘s DLC, Meowstic and Tatsugiri could get new Mega forms, though Porygon-Z would be the odd Pokemon out. While rumors should be taken with a fine grain of salt, it remains to be seen if the alleged appearances of Mega Meowstic or Mega Tatsugiri will resemble any fan-made works.
