How to Unlock the Map in StarRupture

Players are enjoying StarRupture‘s enormous open-world map, but when they try to open their HUD to know their exact location, they might end up scratching their heads, because the map is nowhere to be found.

So, where is the map in StarRupture? Here’s how to unlock one of the most important technologies in the game, as well as a fast method to make it possible before getting lost in Arcadia-7.

How To Unlock the Map in StarRupture

Players who drop in Arcadia-7 for the first time ever might think that something is wrong with the HUD, since the Map is nowhere to be found. But that’s because they need to unlock it first, and to unlock it, they need to learn the basics of Producing Materials, Crafting, and creating a Supply Line to deliver goods to the Orbital Station.

To unlock the Map, players need to reach Faction Level 3 with Moon Energy Corporation, and to accomplish that, players need to fulfill either of these two requirements:

• Deliver 500 Calcium Ores using the Orbital Launch Station
• Deliver 1500 Data Points through the Corporate Terminal

From these two methods, the most straightforward and easy is the second. Farming Data Points is easy if you know how, just delivering some Meteorite Cores or Ignitium to the Analysis Terminal can yield 1500 Data Points real fast.

The first method requires players to set up an Extractor on a Wolfram Vein, connect it with a Smelter, and a whole production line ending in the Orbital Launcher Station to deliver the Wolfram Wires by setting up a Commission for Moon Energy Corp, then wait for a bit until the delivery completes to reach Level 3.

Once this is done, all players need to do is go to the Corporate Terminal and claim the level-up rewards to unlock the map. Now, every time they press M, they will be able to see the explored map. But there’s one more thing they need to do to unlock the whole area, and that is to connect their maps with the Geo Scanners.

Geo Scanners are special antennas scattered all around Arcadia-7, which will immediately reveal a large portion of the map (a 350 meter Radius aprox), But, there’s a catch: Players need to activate and defend them from Vermin until the scanning process concludes.

Approach a Geo Scanner marked on the map with an Antenna Icon, then activate it to commence the survey. The apparatus will produce a loud noise that will attract between two and five waves of Vermin.

Once the process concludes, players will notice a big circle portion of the map has been revealed, alongside any Points of Interest. So go ahead and try to unlock all Geo Scanners to reveal as much of Arcadia-7 as possible. Just remember to be back at your base before the world-wipe event known as the Rupture hits, unless you want to become roasted Pioneer.
