Where Winds Meet: Sects Guide
Sects are factions in the world of Where Winds Meet, and unlike the usual ones found in other MMORPGs, joining a sect can have a drastic impact on how you experience the game. There’s a huge roleplaying element involved with sects, and they have some pretty cool rewards for players who can reach the very top of a sect’s chain of command. Here’s how you can join one in Where Winds Meet as well as quick overviews of what you can expect from each of them.
How to Join Sects in Where Winds Meet
The first thing you want to do is go to the Sects menu from the main in-game menu. You’ll find the button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. This will lead you to the Sects screen, which contains all the important info you need to know about each of the organizations.
Go to the Join Sect screen, then pick a sect that interests you. In the lower-right corner of the screen, you’ll see an “Entry Clue” button. Press that, and you’ll get a clue about where you need to go in order to find a clue leading to your sect of choice. Once you find a clue, you’ll then need to finish a quest to become an official sect member.
Where Winds Meet: All Sects & Rules
This section of the guide is a WIP, as not all Sects are available in the game as of writing. Some information regarding some sects is also unknown, though they are expected to be revealed in future updates for the game.
Apart from following a certain theme and appearance, all Sects in WWM also have a strict set of rules that all members must follow. Violating them will come with consequences, which can include banishment from the sect. If you stay with a sect and increase your reputation with them, you’ll gain access to their unique Sect Shop selection, with the highest of ranks offering sect-themed cosmetics.

Sectless
If none of the sects interest you, you can always choose to remain Sectless. This way, you won’t be bound by any rules, and you can experience Where Winds Meet without any penalties. You’ll miss out on the sect-exclusive items (as well as the roleplaying elements), but you can still get a Sectless-specific outfit from the Sect Shop, which you can buy using Reputation points.
Reputation points are earned by completing Sect Commands under the Jianghu Errand section of the Sects menu.
