The Wizard’s Hat was introduced to Megabonk in the 2025 Christmas patch. This article tells players what they need to do in order to unlock the Wizard’s Hat in Megabonk, and it also explains what it does so they can understand why it’s so important when it comes to creating an overpowered build.

Requirements to Unlock the Wizard’s Hat in Megabonk

One of the items that was added to Megabonk in the Spooky update was the Pot (stainless steel). This is a legendary-rarity item, which tells players that it is quite hard to find due to how powerful it can be.

To get the Wizard’s Hat in Megabonk, players will first have to get their hands on Vlad and the Pot (stainless steel). Without them, they won’t be able to complete the quest that unlocks the Wizard’s Hard.

Wizard’s Hat Unlock Quest: As Vlad, use Pot (stainless steel) to upgrade any weapon above the max level of 40.

How to Unlock Vlad in Megabonk

Vlad is a vampire, and he wields Blood Magic. Players will be able to get Vlad in Megabonk, once they’ve completed Tier 2 of the Desert Map and unlocked the Blood Magic weapon.

After completing Desert Tier 1, players must re-do the level and go through the portal so they can initiate Tier 2. Here, they have to defeat Anubruh, a tougher version of Lil’ Anubis. As for Blood Magic, players will first have to get 12,500 kills in Megabonk, so they can unlock the Bloody Tome. Next, they have to pick the Bloody Tome in-game and get it to Level 12. Once Bloody Tome has reached Level 12, players will have completed the Blood Magic Unlock Quest and gain the ability to purchase it.

Once gamers have met these requirements, they can purchase Vlad and choose him as their character in the seelction screen.

How to Unlock the Pot (stainless steel) Item in Megabonk

To get the Pot (stainless steel) in Megabonk, players have to open every chest and pot in the first crypt on the Graveyard map. It may sound easy at a first glance, but it’s definitely not. Players only have about a minute in the first crypt before Spooky Steve appears, and he will instantly one-shot players when he comes in contact with them. There is a timer on the screen letting players know when he’ll make an appearance.

Before, players could only get the Pot (stainless steel) if they completed this quest with Bandit and it had to be done before the timer hit zero. Now, players can use any character in Megabonk for this quest, and they can do it after the timer ends and Spooky Steve spawns – however, they will only have a few seconds before he eliminates them.

In order to have a chance at grabbing all the loot inside the crypt, players have to understand how it works. When gamers first start a run on the Graveyard map, they will spawn in a crypt. They have to find the way out so they can visit the graveyard and prepare for the fight with one of the stage bosses. If they’re not able to find the exit in time, Spooky Steve will come for them. In the crypt, there are over a dozen pots and free chests. It is wise to grab as many as possible before the time runs out, as it’s basically free loot.

In a standard run, players will interact with all the chests and pots that they see on their way to the exit. However, they usually don’t risk it too much due to the chance of being eliminated by Spooky Steve. When attempting to unlock the Pot (stainless steel), they will have no choice but to find every interactable so they can open them.

How to Get Every Chest and Pots in the Crypt

Best character – To easily grab every chest and pot in the first crypt, players will want to pick a character that is highly mobile. Tony McZoom and Calcium are great candidates – that is if players are able to time their jumps right, as falling into the lava or from a platform can mean having to start over. The best character to pick when trying to unlock the Pot (stainless steel) is Monke. Besides being relatively fast and being able to jump quite far, Monke has a unique ability, Monke Grip, which allows him to climb up walls, and it makes this challenge a lot easier.
Movement – Players should master bunny hopping in Megabonk, as it’ll help speed up their character, so they can finish in time. To bunny hop, they have to crouch while moving forward and then jump. It’ll allow players to jump a lot farther, due to the momentum that they gained.
Mini-map – It’s not easy to miss a pot or a chest inside the crypt, so players will want to keep an eye on their mini-map, so they can make sure that they’re opening everything in the room.
Layout – Lastly, players will want to replay the crypt a few times before they give this a real try. The rooms in the crypt are randomly arranged every time, so gamers should more or less know where they should go to grab the next pot or chest whenever they enter a new room.

These tips will make it much easier for gamers to complete this challenge and gain access to the Pot (stainless steel). They just need to make that they have at least 37 Silver in their inventory if they want to obtain the Pot (stainless steel), as that is how much it costs to unlock it in the Items section of the Unlocks tab. Once they’ve bought it, it will have a chance to spawn when interacting with Shady Guys, Moai Statues, and chests – as long as they don’t have it toggled off.

How to Get the Wizard’s Hat in Megabonk

Once gamers have completed the previous steps, they have everything they need to unlock the Wizard’s Hat in Megabonk. The last thing they need to do is upgrade any weapon above its max level while playing as Vlad.

This means that players will have to obtain the Pot (stainless steel) in a Vlad run and have one of their weapons reach at least Level 41. This is no easy feat, but gamers can improve their chances by doing the following:

Refund Weapon Slots upgrades in the Shop – invest in only two weapons, making it easier to put all XP into them
Select the XP Tome – maximize how much XP is obtained from each collected shard
Play on Tier 3 – give yourself more time to level up and find the Pot (stainless steel)
Toggle off items – toggle off most times to increase your chance of finding the Pot (stainless steel)
