Divinity Original Sin 2: The Burning Pigs Walkthrough

By newsgame

The Burning Pigs is an optional side quest in Divinity: Original Sin 2, where players have to find a cure for a group of burning pigs cursed with Necrofire by Braccus Rex. The pigs themselves offer no clues to the cure’s location or even its nature.

Dousing them with water via the Rain Spell or trying to heal them with healing spells doesn’t do anything, as Necrofire isn’t a curse so easily broken. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to cure the burning pigs as well as all rewards associated with the quest.

The Burning Pigs Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Talk to the Burning Pigs in the swamp directly east of the Hollow Marshes – Bridge Waypoint (X:439, Y:177).
  2. Find Amadia’s Sanctuary and activate the healing pool by talking to the statue near Gratiana.
  3. Have your Source Collar removed.
  4. Unlock the Bless Source Skill by visiting the Hall of Echoes and talking to your race patron for the first time.
  5. Use Bless on a Flaming Pig in the swamp to cure the Necrofire.
  6. Fight or convince the undead Lizard Scapor.
  7. Talk to Feder, the cured pig, south of the Hollow Marshes – Abandoned Camp Waypoint (X:576, Y:188) and tell her to head to Amadia’s Sanctuary (requires Pet Pal talent).
  8. Find Feder in Amadia’s Sanctuary (X:416, Y:30) and tell her to enter the healing pool.

Amadia’s Sanctuary Location

The Sanctuary of Amadia can be found south of where you find the Burning Pigs. The easiest way to access this location is by lowering the vines next to Bahara (X: 474, Y: 34). The only way to reach Bahara’s location is by using Teleportation.

The Gloves of Teleportation grant the Teleportation skill for free. They can be looted from the Saltwater Crocodiles on the western beach in Fort Joy.

Remove Source Collar

The easiest way to have your Source Collar removed is to talk to Leya in Amadia’s Sanctuary. There are three ways Leya can remove your Source Collar:

  1. If you save Gareth, the Seeker, from the Magistrates and return to Leya, she will remove the collar.
  2. If you talk to Leya with Beast in your party and have him convince Duggan to help your party, Leya will remove the collar.
  3. If you talk to Leya with Lohse in your party and have her sing a soothing song to her, she will remove the collar.

Regardless of which method you choose, removing the Source Collar is necessary as it is the only way you can use the Bless Skill and remove the curse from the pigs.

Unlock Bless Skill

Bless is the very first Source Skill all characters in Divinity: Original Sin 2 will unlock when they first head inside the Hall of Echoes to talk to their patron. The easiest way to enter the Hall of Echoes is by interacting with the Shrine to the Seven in the Hollow Marshes (X: 517, Y: 173), just east of where you find the Burning Pigs.

Using Bless on a Flaming Pig

After you have the Bless Skill unlocked and your Source Collar removed, head to the location marker on your map stating “Here Be Pigs” to return to the Burning Pigs. Here, you’ll find a Source Puddle on the ground.

Have a character with the Bless skill walk over the puddle, and they’ll absorb it to gain a Source Point. Now, that character can use the Bless skill on a burning pig to cure it of Necrofire.

Curing each pig nets you 600 XP. You only need to cure one pig to progress the quest; the rest are optional.

Undead Lizard Scapor

When you cure a pig’s Necrofire, an undead Lizard Scapor will spawn at your location. Here, you have two choices:

  1. Fight and defeat Scapor (1800 XP).
  2. Convince Scapor not to fight you using Wits Persuasion (3000 XP).

Scapor will enter a conversation with the character who casts the Bless skill. In order to persuade her, make sure to use a character that has invested some points in Wits.

Feder Location

Feder can be found south of the Hollow Marshes – Abandoned Camp Waypoint (X:576, Y:188), on the slope leading towards the icy field where Slane the Winter Dragon is imprisoned. Feder only appears at this location after a single pig has been cured using Bless.

After telling her to go to Amadia’s Sanctuary, you can find her near the Waypoint (X:416, Y:30).

Once Feder enters the pool, she will instantly be healed and return to her human form, becoming a rare weapon and armor trader in Amadia’s Sanctuary. You can find her sitting on a bench by a flower pot on top of a wooden structure (X:450, Y:40).

If you anger Amadia’s statue, it will turn into a blood pool instead of a healing pool. Feder will die if she steps into this pool.
