Unfortunately for the millions of PC gamers that use Steam, Valve’s digital platform is experiencing some major issues today. Steam is the premiere digital storefront for PC gamers, boasting the biggest lineup of games from old-school classics to modern-day masterpieces. Steam’s many quality-of-life features and consumer-friendly model have made it the go-to for most PC gamers.
Steam is almost always working properly, but there are rare occasions when it has some hiccups. Steam’s latest issues cropped up on Christmas Eve, with the platform going down for a brief period of time before coming back up, only to go down again. Right now, it seems Steam is working for some gamers but not others, and it’s unclear when exactly the issues will be fully resolved.
Most Wishlisted Game on Steam Comes From “AI-First” Company, and It Should Raise More Eyebrows
Amid ongoing generative AI controversies, it seems the most wishlisted game on Steam has gone ignored while being published by an “AI-First” company.
Is Steam Down Right Now?
When it comes to accessing Steam on December 24, mileage may vary. At the time of this writing, it’s not 100% working for me, but others are apparently able to access it with no problem. Valve itself has not issued a statement on the problems plaguing Steam today, but hopefully the issues are resolved soon.
It’s unclear what exactly is causing Steam’s issues. It’s possible that the influx of people using Steam over the holidays is causing problems, or maybe there’s something else at play. Whatever the case may be, we will update this article once Steam services are fully restored for everyone.
