How to Prestige Weapons in Black Ops 7

By newsgame

Weapon Prestige was once a thing of the past, but Black Ops 7 boasts itself as the biggest Black Ops ever, so why not indulge in bringing back a classic to keep the grind exciting for those who adore rewards? Weapon Prestige will keep you and your favorite weapons in Black Ops 7 very busy indeed, but if you want to know what Weapon Prestige is, what it actually does, the rewards you obtain, and if it’s worth doing, then check out our comprehensive guide on everything you need to know about Weapon Prestige in BO7!

How Does Weapon Prestige Work in Black Ops 7?

In order to Prestige your Weapon, you must reach the Max Level of the Weapon itself. Every weapon in Black Ops 7 has a unique Level, so they won’t all be the same. However, this can be rather easily achieved thanks to Double Weapon XP Tokens, and due to progress being shared across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Co-Op Campaign (and its Endgame). If you continue to Level Up your weapon, you will unlock Attachments, and at Maximum Weapon Level, you will be provided with an option to enter Weapon Prestige. You can check the weapon’s Maximum Level in the top-right of your Loadout screen when selecting a gun.

After reaching the Maximum Weapon Level, you can enter the Gunsmith and hold Triangle/Y to Prestige the weapon. However, do be warned that entering Weapon Prestige will reset the Weapon Level to 1, and all of your Weapon Builds are reset, along with the loss of your Attachments. You also won’t lose Blueprints, Camos, Reticles, Charms, Decals, and Stickers.

There are 3 Weapon Prestige Ranks to claim on each weapon, and each of them grants a unique reward, including a Permanent Unlock Token that can be used on the Weapon for Attachments only. For Prestige 1 and Prestige 2, you will need to reach the Max Weapon Level. Then, there’s Weapon Prestige Mastery, which requires Level 100, Level 150, Level 200, and finally, Level 250. Each Weapon will have a distinct Attachment reward, along with a Prestige 1 Camo, Prestige 2 Camo, and Prestige Max Camo. The Prestige Master Camos are identical, and you can find each of these camos in the Universal Camos tab when customizing your Weapon. Each of these Camos is Universal, meaning you can unlock the Prestige 1 Camo on the Razor 9mm and use it on any weapon, and so forth. Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll earn:

  • Weapon Prestige 1:

    • Permanent Unlock Token
    • Prestige Attachment
    • Prestige 1 Camo
  • Weapon Prestige 2:

    • Permanent Unlock Token
    • Prestige Weapon Charm
    • Prestige 2 Camo
  • Prestige Mastery:

    • All Attachments are unlocked
    • Prestige Master Camo 1
    • Prestige Master Camo 2
    • Prestige Master Camo 3
    • Prestige Max Camo

Is It Worth Doing Weapon Prestige in Black Ops 7?

Weapon Prestige is reserved for players who know that they want to grind for Camos in Black Ops 7. If you feel like you do not have the time to grind Camos, or you want to keep all your Attachments, then you should not Weapon Prestige. Weapon Prestige will reset your Attachments and force you to start at Level 1 in exchange for a Prestige Attachment and a Prestige Camo. While the Camo might be cool, and the Prestige Attachment benefits your build, if you feel like it’s too much work to grind through the Levels again, then you shouldn’t feel inclined to Weapon Prestige, especially since some Prestige Attachments may just be a Laser Sight instead of something useful.

However, if you like the Camo grind and earning XP, then we definitely recommend hitting the Weapon Prestige. It’s a great display of mastery over your favorite weapons, and some of the Camos featured are really cool to see, especially since you can equip them on all your other weapons. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s a grind that will keep you busy and show your determination to be the Weapon Prestige Master of Black Ops 7.
