All Verso’s Drafts Bosses in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

By newsgame

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 features numerous challenging boss fights that require players to strategize effectively, especially on higher difficulties. Most of the areas in the game have powerful bosses that might take a few attempts to beat, since players will need to learn the parry timings on their attacks.

The new location that was added with the GOTY update for Expedition 33 is filled with a lot of NPC interactions, new weapons, outfits, and boss encounters as well. Here is where players can find those bosses and the rewards associated with them.

All Verso's Drafts Bosses in Clair Obscur Expedition 33-1

There are six bosses in Verso’s Draft, most of which are the Chromatic version of the normal enemies you will find roaming around the areas. These Chromatic versions have more powerful attacks and can be challenging, especially if you are under-leveled.

If you are max level and using Maelle in your starting party, using Last Chance followed by Stendhal should be more than enough to deal with Chromatic bosses.

The ideal level requirement for this area is around 85+, so if you are sitting in the 60s, then you should try out the Endless Tower. There are multiple stages to this tower, and by the time you finish this, you should have a high level to try out the major side areas where you can fight powerful bosses for more experience, including Renoir’s Drafts.

After you have the levels, you can make your way to the east of Lumiere to find the entry to the Verso’s Drafts, but this requires you to have the underwater diving ability for Esquie.

Chromatic Machinapieds

This boss is the powered-up version of the enemies you might have seen roaming around with wheels. To find this boss, you will need to make your way to the cave that leads to the carousel, where you can acquire the Esquie outfits for all characters after talking to the Very Very Cool Gestral. In this same rather large room is a path next to Monsieur Frappe that goes down to the Chromatic Machinapieds. Defeating the boss rewards you with:

Chromatic Franctale

Chromatic Franctale is the powered-up version of the long-legged enemies. It has a few annoying attacks in its arsenal, but some you might not see if you are over-leveled and have a good build. This boss’s location is very close to the previous one; from the carousel, head outside, and turn right to go down a rope. At the bottom, you will be able to spot the boss from a distance. Defeating the boss rewards you with:

  • Colour of Lumina x5
  • Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x2

Chromatic Barbasucette

The empowered version of the enemies that carry two lollipops with them. To find this boss, you need to exit the arena of the previous boss and head back up the rope. This leads you outside, where you will be able to spot a large body of water with a few enemies on the side. Right in the middle of the lake is the Chromatic Barbasucette, patrolling the area. Approach it to initiate the fight, and once you defeat the boss, you will get:

  • Colour of Lumina x5
  • Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x2
  • Sucetton Weapon (Sciel)

Chromatic Licrone

If you are missing a boss in the whole area, chances are, it is this one. To find this boss, you will need to go left of the previous boss’s location and climb the blocks. Go up all the way, then climb the wooden beams to make your way across to the other side. Try not to fall down, and when you spot a path on the left and one on the right, head right to reach the boss location. For a more detailed explanation of the location of the boss, you can check out our 100% Walkthrough guide of Verso’s Drafts.

Defeating the boss rewards you with:

  • Colour of Lumina x5
  • Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x2
  • Licorum Weapon (Maelle)

Licornapieds

Licornapieds is not a Chromatic boss, and fighting it will require the player to explore Verso’s Drafts quite a bit. The reason behind this is that players will need to find the three Pieces of Cake needed to open the door with the eyes.

You can get one by completing the Esquie statue puzzle, the second one requires you to acquire the Toy Boat and give it to some specific Gestrals, and the final one is from the Very Very Cool Gestral after you ride the carousel with every character.

Once you open the locked door and head inside, follow the only path until you reach a train that you can interact with, which leads to a Rest Point and next to it, the boss arena. Defeating the boss rewards you with:

  • Recoat
    x1
  • Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x6
  • Frenzy (Pictos)

Osquio

Osquio is one of the hardest bosses in the game, mainly because he introduces a new mechanic. During the first phase of this boss fight, he will focus on doing multiple fast-paced attacks, forcing you to parry much faster than you are used to with normal bosses. The parry timings on these attacks can take some time getting used to, but there is not much to worry about in this phase. The real fight begins when the second phase starts.

During the second phase, whenever he deals damage to you, you gain a stack of Barbapapa. Depending on how many times your character is hit, your next attacks will do 1 damage until the stacks are gone.

Using your Aim attack does not reduce the stacks, so you will have to either opt for a regular attack or any skill.

Skills that hit the target multiple times are a must-have on your characters. If you are having trouble parrying the boss’s attacks, dodging them is also a good option, as this will ensure you do not get hit with multiple stacks at once.

The Cheater (Picto) is a must-have for all your starting party members. You can acquire this by defeating Sprong, who is a world boss located south of Blades’ Graveyard and Forgotten Battlefield.

To find this boss, you will need to go to the Reverie Path (Rest Point). Having the rest point in front of you and the back side of the locked door that requires a cake to open behind you, turn right and go up the path that leads to a train. Interact with it, and it will take you to the Root of All Evil sub-area, where you can trigger this boss fight. Defeating him rewards you with:

You can also purchase the Osquio Outfit and Hairstyle for all the characters if you go back to the Rest point in this sub-area and talk to the merchant there.
