World of Warcraft’s Feast of Winter Veil 2025 Is a Little Disappointing, But There’s Still a Glimmer of Hope
World of Warcraft has officially begun the Feast of Winter Veil 2025, but unfortunately, there is virtually nothing new this year. Despite this, World of Warcraft fans can enjoy the holiday festivities in this in-game event from now until January 2.
The Feast of Winter Veil is the World of Warcraft version of the real-life Christmas holiday. Each year, players can earn tons of achievements and obtain festive transmogs, mounts, pets, and more, with most years adding some new rewards or activities to enjoy.

World of Warcraft fans might want to check out the vendors in Legion Remix again, as some awesome cosmetics have been added to their inventories.
World of Warcraft’s Feast of Winter Veil 2025 Has Nothing New
Now, the Feast of Winter Veil is back in World of Warcraft, but regrettably, there is essentially nothing new this year. The in-game event is live now, and runs until January 2 at 10 AM PT, but currently, there are no new features, activities, or rewards that differ from the Feast of Winter Veil 2024. That being said, there is seemingly one single change from last year: Dimensius the All-Devouring, the final boss of WoW Patch 11.2’s Manaforge: Omega raid, is wearing a Santa hat.
This dearth of new content is quite the departure from last year. The Feast of Winter Veil saw new green and red Festive transmog outfits, quick travel sleighs that bring characters from Dornogal to the holiday venues and the Abominable Greench holiday boss, and tamable reindeer pets for World of Warcraft Hunters in 2024. These features, along with all other evergreen aspects of the event, are back again this year, but no additional content has otherwise been added to the event.
What makes this especially unfortunate is that, with World of Warcraft‘s Housing early access live as of Patch 11.2.7, now would have been the perfect time to introduce some new Winter Veil decor. WoW content creator MrGM even datamined at least 62 Winter Veil-themed Housing items, ranging from Christmas trees, lights, and presents to stockings, candy canes, and a Yuletide hearth. Unfortunately, none of these items are currently available in the game right now, so unless they are added at some point in the next few weeks, fans may need to wait until the end of 2026 to get them.
Sad though it may be, it does make sense that World of Warcraft hasn’t added much to Winter Veil this year. World of Warcraft: Midnight releases March 2, meaning Blizzard has been hard at work on the expansion, especially with launch day rapidly approaching. This likely means there hasn’t been nearly as much time to flesh out the holiday event.
World of Warcraft Might Redeem the Feast of Winter Veil 2025 On Christmas Day
Even so, there is still hope that the Feast of Winter Veil 2025 might not be a total bust. Every year on December 25, World of Warcraft adds a number of gifts under the Winter Veil tree that contain food, festive consumables, and a handful of new toys or other collectibles. At least one item has been added every year since 2007, so gamers can almost certainly expect something this year as well.
Even if there isn’t much new in the Feast of Winter Veil, there’s plenty to do elsewhere in the game right now. World of Warcraft: Legion Remix recently launched its final phase full of boosts to power, experience, and Bronze, and is ongoing until January 19. Additionally, the Turbulent Timeways are in full swing, with Timewalking campaigns every week until February 10. Finally, the World of Warcraft: Midnight Pre-Expansion event is coming soon, too, and though it hasn’t officially received a start date, fans can almost certainly expect it on or around January 20, right after Legion Remix ends.
