To find Rayquaza in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC, players need to complete the Main Story, then beat 
Darkraiand Mega Darkrai. With that out of the way, players will be called by Corbeau once more and directed to hunt down Groudonand Kyogre.

How to Beat Mega Rayquaza in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC
The battle versus Rayquaza consists of two similar phases, but with various important aspects that can kill players if they’re not careful. Blacking out or running out of time will reset the battle from the first stage, and this can be incredibly frustrating. Let’s break down both phases, then talk about all the Mega Evolution counters.
- Phase 1 – Rayquaza: Will use Vast Impact, Outrage, Hyper Beam, Dragon Pulse, and a charged attack combining Hurricane and Draco Meteor that can absolutely ruin players if they’re not careful. During this phase, Rayquaza will be extremely physical and relentlessly chase the player around the arena to land Outrage or Vast Impact on them. If they move too far, they will be sniped with Hyper Beams (which this monster can shoot without rest). Lastly, once Rayquaza has received 1/4 damage, it might start charging its empowered Hurricane + Draco Meteor. Keep the Pokemon in the Poke Ball, then run around the middle counterclockwise, dodging the meteors and avoiding being such by the Hurricanes in the perimeter of the arena.
- Phase 2 – Mega Rayquaza: Now comes the fun part. Rayquaza will spam Hyper Voice (or a similar attack), Hyper Beam, Outrage, and Brutal Swing at close range. Running towards the border of the arena is asking to be one-shotted, so avoid getting within range of its Hyper Beam/Hyper Voice barrage. When Mega Rayquaza is damaged enough, it will use Dragon Ascent, summoning a Hurricane that will suck out anything in the arena. Target the Hurricane fast, and break it down to avoid damage. If players fail to break the Hurrican on time, they’ll be slammed and, as a result, wiped out or left red, which will surely be followed by a fast Hyper Voice, blacking out the trainer.
Best Counters & Strategy For Mega Rayquaza in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC
In preparation for this battle, players will need one of these three Pokemon: Meganium, Garchomp, or Feraligatr. These three are particularly selected, to ensure a smooth victory over Mega Rayquaza.
Make sure Meganium has at least Synthesis, Dazzling Gleam, and Disarming Voice. EVs focused on bulk and Sp. Atk so 252 HP/ 252 Sp. Atk, 4 Def. This is for a battle of attrition type of strategy, using Disarming Voice to debuff Rayquaza, and Synthesis for survival. Dazzling Gleam is the main source of damage when Mega Meganium is up.

Garchomp should have: Dragon Claw, Outrage, Swords Dance. EVs focused on damage and a bit of speed, so 252 HP/ 252 Atk, 4 Speed. Use Swords Dance, dodge attacks, more Swords Dance, then follow up with Dragon Claw, Outrage, and if possible, Dual Chop.
For Feraligatr, Ice Fang, Outrage, Screech, and Breaking Swipe. EVs max at Atk, HP, and a bit of Def (252 HP/ 252 Atk, 4 Def.). Lower Rayquaza’s Def with Screech, then spam moves until it falls down.
Ideally, players will want to have a ton of Full Restore and Max Revive for this battle. It is an extremely harsh challenge, so pay attention to the healing timer.
For the first phase, players will want to be at an intermediate distance, and always keep running around, looking for Rayquaza’s back instead of letting it chase them. Spam attacks as instructed above to make it fall faster. And remember to keep the Pokemon inside the Ball when it launches its Mega-charged attack.
For the second phase, players need to be extremely careful and time their dodge (Y) correctly. There’s a 0.4-second delay between rolls, and this leaves a window of opportunity of 0.3 seconds for targeting and calling an attack, before having to dodge again (yes, that hard), so make sure to make every attack count.
Mega Garchomp is faster and causes more damage, but it will also fall prey to Mega Rayquaza faster. Mega Meganium will be immune to most of its attacks (except Brutal Swing), so it’s free from damage most of the time.
Now, Feraligatr will receive less damage when in regular form and cause less damage with Outrage and Breaking Swipe, but cause more damage and receive more when Mega Evolved. It’s a tradeoff players should be aware of.
Keep at it, and the prize will be the strongest Pokemon in the game. But there’s a catch: Players need to relinquish it to Ansha first.
Mega Rayquaza Best Moves, EV Spread, & Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
With a BST of 780, Mega Rayquaza is the strongest Pokemon in the game (not contested by anyone). This beast has 105 HP, 180 Atk, 100 Def, 180 Sp. Atk, 100 Sp. Def, and 115 Speed. A hybrid attacker, with high mobility, and also bulk: There’s nothing that can stop Rayquaza.
Complete its build with this moveset: Dragon Ascent (using it with Full Mega Energy causes it to Mega Evolve), Ancient Power (coverage and boosts all stats), Dragon Rush (closes the gap), Brutal Swing or Hyper Voice, depending on the EV Spread. Extremespeed and Earthquake are still good in Rayquaza, so consider them as well.
For EVs, players should choose to focus on either Sp. Atk or Atk (252), then Speed 252, and HP 4. Or a bulkier build with 252 HP/ 252 Sp. Ark or Atk/ 4 Speed. It’s up to players to decide. Nature should reflect these choices as well: Pick Adamant for Physical focus, or Modest for Sp. Attacker.
