Minecraft Player Spends Months Building Accurate Steam Locomotive

One extremely ambitious Minecraft player has managed to create an impressive steam locomotive in the game, but they have no intention of stopping there. As a live-service title, Minecraft regularly releases updates that both improve and expand upon the game, giving players even more ways to express themselves when building their world.

Minecraft recently released its Mounts of Mayhem game drop on December 9, which introduced a wide variety of new mounts to the title. Gamers now have the ability to use a Nautilus or Zombie Nautilus to move around underwater. The water mounts also imbue players with the Breath of Nautilus effect, which allows them to preserve air while they explore. When trying to get around on land, players can utilize the Zombie Horse, which can be found at night. In order to make use of this steed, players will need to get rid of the current rider and claim it for themselves. Gamers also have the ability to create Netherite horse armor now, which will allow them to better protect their mounts from the many hazards of the world. While some players engage with the title by seeking adventure, others are content to focus on building their own creations, often constructing elaborate structures.

Minecraft Player Creates an Incredibly Detailed Locomotive

In a recent post on Reddit, HenriqueMaquinista shared images of a Minecraft build they’ve spent months putting together, which features a steam locomotive based on a real machine built in 1936 for the Union Pacific Railroad. According to HenriqueMaquinista, this massive locomotive was created and used to pull heavy freight trains between Wyoming and Utah during that time period. While the player was unable to share the specific number of hours they’d spent putting everything together, they did say that they had been working on it throughout the year, but increased the amount of time they spent doing so in November and December. Many gamers were quick to praise HenriqueMaquinista for their hard work and dedication, noting the meticulous details and sheer size of the steam locomotive. One person said they’d wished they’d seen the post earlier, as they’re also in the process of building a locomotive within the game.

In the comment section, Jumento_doido suggested that the builder should work on making the steam locomotive functional. Much to Jumento_doido’s surprise, HenriqueMaquinista stated that they have plans to do just that. The builder didn’t share how (or when) they would go about making the locomotive actually work, but it’s certainly an exciting idea. While building a locomotive that actually functions might sound like a daunting task, many players have found ways to bring incredible creations to life. One person even managed to use the game’s leash mechanics to create a working claw machine in Minecraft. In addition to making their existing locomotive functional, HenriqueMaquinista expressed the desire to work on similar projects in the future, such as freight and passenger locomotives.

People are always using their imagination to create impressive builds in Minecraft, since players have the freedom and ability to craft just about anything.
