Best Uriel Build in Warframe
Uriel emerged like a bat out of hell during the launch of the Old Peace update for Warframe. Together with his three trusty companions, he wields fire and brimstone to fill your screen with flames, damage numbers, and roasting enemies. Uriel is incredibly mobile, surprisingly durable, and a whole lot of fun to play, especially once you understand how he works.
The following is a guide on how to get and build Uriel in Warframe. We’ll be covering how his abilities work, how they interact with mods, and some other important things you should know when you start making your own Uriel setup.
Warframe Tier List 2025 (Best Warframes, Ranked)
Here’s the definitive tier list of all the Warframes players can choose from.
How to Get Uriel in Warframe
First, you’ll need to complete the Old Peace quest. Doing so will reward you with Uriel’s actual blueprint alongside some other important items and features.
To unlock the Old Peace quest, you need to first complete the Lotus Eaters quest in Warframe. If you’re a new player, complete The Teacher quest first, then when the Mission Preview prompt appears, agree to join it.
Next, you need to farm for Uriel’s individual part blueprints from the Descendia game mode, which will become available after you complete the Old Peace quest. To access it, select the Dark Refractory option when you approach your Navigation terminal. Reach Infernum 21 in Descendia to get a Uriel component blueprint.
Alternatively, you can buy Uriel’s component blueprints from Roathe at La Cathedrale in Sanctum Anatomica. For this, you’ll need Maphica, a currency that you can obtain by playing Descendia.
Warframe Uriel Skills
Uriel works both as a weapons platform and a caster frame, which means you can build him three ways: go all-in on gun buffs, focus on improving his abilities, or do a bit of both. To understand how he’s so flexible, we first need to take a look at his abilities.
Uriel’s Passive
Uriel always deploys with three demon companions. These guys resemble oversized Sentinels, and they each do different things:
- Catenach slows and binds enemies together, causing any damage taken by one of them to also apply to other chained enemies.
- Gulphagor latches onto a target, immobilizing and dealing damage over time. If the enemy is killed while immobilized by Gulphagor, they drop Health and Energy Orbs as well as a circle of pain that damages enemies.
- Vythelas inscribes runes upon dead enemies. Picking up this rune buffs your Fire Rate and makes your guns deal an additional instance of Heat damage.
The three demons passively attack and draw the attention of enemies while in a mission. When they die, they’ll respawn after 60 seconds or once Uriel uses his second ability, Remedium. The effectiveness of the demons’ abilities are tied to Uriel’s main abilities.
Infernalis
Activate the skill to create an aura over Uriel. Enemies inside this aura receive Heat damage and a status effect. If you tap the dodge button while airborne, Uriel will fly forward. You maintain full directional control of Uriel while he’s flying, and you can cancel out of it by performing other actions or by hitting the floor.
Ideally, Infernalis should always be active. Heat status procs cause enemies to panic while also reducing their armor. The more burning enemies there are, the less sources of damage you need to worry about. The flight portion of this skill is nice to have, and while you can definitely build for it, it’s not a completely necessary part of Uriel’s kit (it’s tons of fun to use, though).
Remedium
Uriel briefly begins casting, becoming immune to all damage during the animation. After casting, he regains Health and Shields; using Remedium at full Shields will generate an Overshield. Urien also heals his demon companions, and any dead demon is instantly revived at the end of Remedium’s cast animation.
This is Uriel’s panic button. Whenever your Shields break, use the shield gate window to cast Remedium to fully regain your Shields and any lost Health.
Demonium
Drain the health of your active demons to fire exploding projectiles that seek enemies. The projectiles deal damage and make enemies vulnerable upon contact, similar to how Oraxia’s web works.
This ability is used less for damage and more for its debuff. Enemies hit by Demonium will take significantly more damage, and this scales with Uriel’s Ability Strength. The effect lasts only for a short duration, however, which also means that it scales poorly with Ability Duration.
Brimstone
Uriel creates a large zone that deals extreme Heat damage to every enemy in it. Every time an enemy is damaged by the zone, the damage inflicted by Heat ticks intensifies.
Brimstone hits stupidly hard. It can melt Steel Path enemies in seconds, but there’s a catch — other than requiring Energy, Brimstone needs to be charged by using Uriel’s other skills and interacting with his demons’ abilities. Once the charge meter below your companions’ health bars is full, only then will you be able to use Brimstone.
How to Build Uriel in Warframe
Regardless of what playstyle you want to use for Uriel, he will always benefit from the following stats:
- Ability Strength
- Ability Range
- Casting Speed
- Ability Duration
- Parkour Velocity
All of Uriel’s skills scale very well with Ability Strength, especially Brimstone and Demonium. If you were to choose just one stat to boost for Uriel, it’d be Ability Strength.
Ability Range is also great on Uriel. More range means Infernalis and Brimstone will reach enemies that are farther away. If you’re not too concerned with dealing damage with Brimstone or the Vulnerability effect from Demonium, then you can opt to focus on boosting Ability Range instead.
Ability Duration is decent to have on Uriel for longer Infernalis and Brimstone uptimes, but considering how easy it is to spam abilities with him due to the Health/Energy Orb drops from Gulphagor, you can get away with just recasting abilities instead of making them last longer.
Casting Speed is arguably the second most important stat for Uriel. He relies a lot on his skills, and they all have fairly long casting animations. More Casting Speed will make Uriel feel more fluid, especially when using Brimstone and Demonium.
Parkour Velocity works with Infernalis’ flight. Get this if you want to go fast.
Core Mods
- Equilibrium for easier Health/Energy management
- Flow for more max Energy
- A defensive mod like Adaptation for survivability
-
Your pick of stat-boosting mods based on the section above
- Consider using Blind Rage to further boost Ability Strength at the cost of Efficiency.
For your Aura mod, we recommend either Growing Power for more Ability Strength or any weapon-based mod like Rifle Amp and Worthy Comradery.
If you’re just clearing the Star Chart in Warframe, you can get away with using literally anything on Uriel. His base kit is so good that you’ll never have to worry about dying unless you get careless. However, we do highly recommend getting Equilibrium ASAP so you won’t have to worry about running out of Health and Energy again.
Once you hit the endgame, try to get Archon Vitality. This will make the Heat damage from your abilities apply twice while also giving you a chunky health boost.
Warframe Arcanes
Your choice of Arcanes will depend on your preferred playstyle. Some good options include:
|
Weapon Platform |
Arcane Rage — On Headshot, 15% chance to gain up to 180% Primary Weapon Damage Arcane Precision — On Headshot, get up to 300% increased Secondary Weapon Damage Arcane Avenger — When hit, 21% chance to get up to 45% bonus Critical Chance |
|
Caster |
Arcane Camisado — Attacks from Summoned Minions increase your Ability Strength on the next Ability cast. Molt Augmented — Get up to +0.24% Ability Strength per kill, up to 250x. |
Of course, you can combine two of any Arcane, but if you want to focus on one playstyle, then it’d be better to get a defensive Arcane into the mix.
Archon Shards
As for your Archon Shards, it’s the same deal with your mod setup. If you lack the right mods, or if you want to boost certain stats even further, then farm Archons until you get the shards you want.
We do recommend getting either Casting Speed or Parkour Velocity here so you don’t spend any Warframe mod slots for it, provided you don’t need any additional core stats for your build.
